To be honest mate I know very little about Iraola or Bournemouth’s midfield set up. I’m sure it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Richard Hughes buys an unsuitable player for our new Head Coach though…
One caveat to this that maybe scuppers the whole plan…this requires us to manage the absence of Hugo for at least half a season but likely more with only the players we have at the club acting as needed and effective alternatives to Isak through the middle. That likely puts a LOT of responsibility on Cody.
I don’t watch Italian football but I know he’s been a disappointment (although Juventus fans still seem to say he’s good). I could see him going to Chelsea though that just sounds like it would fit.
I think there is still a good player in there but it’s been a significant portion of his career since he was last regularly playing well and scoring. He’s the sort that I wouldnt be surprised if he popped up somewhere and started scoring again, like Depay did in France. But I wouldnt want my club to be the one to give him that chance
A few months ago I saw an Anfield Index video saying that Hughes had offered to sign Lamine Camara for Arne but he didn’t want him. I don’t know if that is really true but am curious as to when it was supposed to have happened?
That’s one I havent heard before, but an interesting one. On paper he seemed to fit becaus he’s quite patient and decent on the ball for someone who’s primarily known for being combative. So Im not sure I buy it.
The video from redmentv was very good as they had an “expert” from transfermarkt, hour long, some good insights in a variety of options but a members only video.
Camara, Wharton and Bowen were the transfermarkt picks, taking into account budget and costs of players like Diomande.
A good shout for a stop gap CF, was Lewandowski especially with Ekitike being out for a good chunk of the season.
At the right price, with our primary targets landed, he’d be a very savvy pick up. At his best, especially if any of the others are struggling, he’d be able to get games anywhere in the front 3 on merit. But even if everyone else was playing well he is good enough and versatile enough to eat up appearances across the entire front line as needed.
If we get a proper lights out replacement for Mo on the right then I think supplementing the attack with Bowen is exactly the sort of move to deal with the temporary but still medium term absence of Hugo. For me, the biggest draw back is if he’s going to actually be available at a price that makes sense.
