Who would you buy? (Part 2)

I think we can´t afford to be allocating money for squad places to be honest. He´d still cost 40 million maybe and potentially need replacing in a year or so as he hits early 30s.

We need to be buying first teamers and using youth for backup, such is the state of the team.

Speaking of West Ham players.

Wan Bissaka for a few years?

Solid full back next to our child centre backs?

We don’t have the youth for backup and Bowen has proven to be a good Premier league player with a good end product.

Laughable that you poo poo, Bowen and then mention Wan Bissaka.

We have Elliott and Rio

Wan Bissaka would be a cheap and solid player for the first team. You want to to spend 40 million plus on a soon to be 30 year old backup winger.

Rio plays left and Elliot cannot fill in effectively RW or CF and $40m would be too much $30m is a no brainer!

Wan Bissaka is not the right profile full back for an Iraola system, no good in the final 3rd!

Any half decent winger can play on the other side if needed. With Bowen’s wages too.

Who knows what Iraola’s system will be. It might be to have some full backs who can actually defend for a change eh.

Well why don’t the half decent wingers play on both sides, are you Almighty in disguise?

eh? Obviously they’re better on one side

But do you really think most wingers couldnt do a solid job on the other side? Have you never seen both wingers switch mid game?

So why didn’t Sadio and Mo and they are far better than decent wingers, maybe coaches see their strengths for whete they play and how the team plays?

Joao Gomes and Mane from wolves
Mattteus Martinez from Westham
Esteve from Burnley
Kroupi and Rayan from Bournemouth

Sadio did play on both sides. For Southampton on the right and he got that amazing goal against Arsenal on the right for us.

lets learn to walk before we start running, eh?

I know that, but that was before Mo joined, Klopp never rotated their positions, I wonder why?

BTW I did think they should have swapped every now and then during the game, but they are elite not average.

Im not talking about rotation when they both play.

I’m talking about when one is not playing, the other could play there. And obviously they could. Sadio did for us. Most wingers can.

Obviously you wouldn’t move your best left winger to the right to cover Salah. You’d move your second best.

CB Van Hecke
RB - Kayode/Palestra
LB - Truffert
DM - Wharton/Sangare
MF - Anderson (unlikely) / Scott/ Garner/ Gray
AM - Gibbs-White
RW - Diomande
ATT- Bowen/Kroupi
Not all of them obviously, but here’s a realistic selection of what we might need and could get. I’ve tried to incorporate Iraola’s style of play into the choices, which means we will be high pressing and working like crazy. He uses four wingers every game because the starters are knackered after 60mins. High-pressing also means a very hard-working, physical and mobile midfield where we need additions badly. Bowen is getting on but is a stop-gap for Ekitike and an excellent player who grafts. We might even consider that Sunderland goalie too.

SELL - Jones (must). Sorry, I know he had his fans but the attraction is quite beyond me. He literally does nothing with the ball (except showing off a bit), doesn’t work hard and does not progress the ball like Iraola needs.
Alisson - It’s coming, let’s face it, but only if a top replacement is there.

Sadio, only did it for us before Mo came.

Love the look of Truffert, but he ain’t going to come with Kerkez being here and Kerkez will be far better under Iraola.

Also, Sangare competes with Anderson as a buy not Wharton, Wharton really isn’t a 6 in the true sense, more in the MF role.

But all good shouts, I would add Summerville to that as he would be cheap as well and is home grown, through being at Leeds.

Anderson is one I would love but Sangare is cheaper and maybe Scott over Wharton due to the price demanded.

I do feel that Jacquet will be trusted as the starter CB, but Schlotterbeck would be a great option as he can cover Virg, who shouldn’t be playing all the games he does.

van Hecke is the CB we should be targetting in my opinion, especially as he only has 12 months left on his contract which surely makes his price no more than £50-£60m.

Another option could be Fikayo Tomori. Bit older at 28 but also out of contract next year and probably cheaper than van Hecke. He was supposed to sign a new contract with Milan in February but that still hasn’t happened. Milan would hate to lose him but apparently he’s upset at missing the World Cup squad so playing in the Premier League will probably give him a better shot at the Euros.

Nah, no thanks.

One of the Mods should surely look at a minimum 24 hour ban for Liverdinner recommending Wan Bissaka?
