Who would you buy? (Part 2)

He´s exactly what they need. A proper ball player in there with individual ability.

In my view every team who wants to win stuff should have a player like that.

Hard to say at that age but he looks a confident player, physically quick and strong enough so he´d have a good chance. It´s frustrating we are at this position where we need maybe more senior quality but I would not be disappointed at all if we got him

Starting now against Norway, both Bouaddi and Abde. I’ll be having a look.

Might try tune in myself.

I also think price-wize, neither would be expensive. Abde in particular a fairly shrewd low risk signing in my opinion.

Morocco has some very good players. Typically skilful.

Just saw Mateus Fernandes didn´t make the Portuguese squad.

I heard Man Utd are all over him and I think we probably should jump in there. Massive amount of talent. Has the technique and positivity on the ball I want and is a good solid player defensively.

In fact, pick him up and Wharton to play together? Both not at the World Cup.

Watched as well, both goals were nicely crafted. Who’s the right winger for Norway?

Oscar Bobb, at least in the second half. Was at City, plays for Fulham now.

Of course yes!

He looked good!

I love watching him play, but I also agree with what the national team manager said about him: He plays like he’s still in little league and wants to walk the ball into the net.

But in those 1v1 situations he’s great, his change of direction is something else. Seriously quick feet.

I had to watch what he did twice for the assist. He completely confused the Moroccan defender.

Didnt see much from Nusa on the other wing.

He´s meant to be quite good and rumours of big club interest but was a little quiet.

I would have liked him to have a go at Hakimi a couple of times more, even though he’s difficult to beat 1v1.

A bit similar to when I watched Ivory Coast vs France the other day, I would have liked to see Diomande getting more out of his matchup with Kounde, who is also a pretty good 1v1 defender but not as good as Hakimi.

I like Nusa a lot, having watched him many times for club and country, and wouldn’t mind Liverpool going for him. But he hasn’t had a season of high output yet for Leipzig, so I don’t think they will.

Someone like Abde would perhaps be a more likely Liverpool signing, he just had a breakout season in terms of goal involvements, and is a few years older. Looked like he went off injured yesterday, hopefully not a bad one.

Yeah I agree. Hakimi and Kounde are good but a top winger goes at them. Lamal for sure would and he is obviously the best. Olise. That is the level to aspire to.

I think Nusa can be very tricky and he has the pace so there is a lot of talent there but has to put it together against players like Hakimi.

Yeah I think Abde is a good solid pickup. Not quite sure how good he can be but he´s already very solid.

He has a bit a Salah trajectory to him - early promise that ends up being a bit of a false start then having to go down a level to build his reputation back up over the course of a couple of years. Obviously I’m not saying Id expect him to have the same impact, but I think regardless of whether we sign him I always think there is something nice about seeing players like this get back to the top table.

That’s an interesting comparison, I haven’t thought about that. He already has the top club experience, a sense of the demands at the highest level, which I’m guessing counts for something.

He was maybe the best of the bunch yesterday, in terms of the attacking players involved. Very distinct in everything he did, little hesitation. Even the chance he missed after making a good run into the box, I thought he struck it well, difficult finish.

Found another interesting player. I’ve listed RW as “necessary” in my mental checklist of signings for the summer, and CF and LW would be in my “nice to get”.

I did a search of all top 7 leagues for Shot Frequency and Goal Conversion Rate. Then one for Chance Creation Rate and Key Passes/90 and then finally one for Accelerations p/90 and Possessions Won. Limited to 26 and younger.

Only one player came out as above average (and he was quite far above average) in all categories… Ismael Saibari. Moroccan winger/striker, 25 years old. Currently at PSV Eindhoven where he scored 19 and assisted 9 in 39 appearances.

Looks like he’s one of those unusual cases of player who moves forwards as he used to be more of a midfield player but has started playing more as an AM/CF or on the wings at PSV.

Bayern Munich are being linked with him for around 60m. We’ve made a nice habit of pissing Bayern off recently, why not just do it again?

Do you weight the data at all according to the competition it comes from? I dont know that it’s appropriate to do it, at least to the same degree, as we do for things like goals and assists/chance creation, but interesting none the less.

I don’t try to no but I’m just aware of it. For this lad he was miles above average in every category so I think even if you were to dock him a % for quality of competition he would still rank highly.

This is his radar
