would have been nice if we had also cherry picked Alphonso Davies before Bayern did. they paid $20 CAD for that kid. deal of the decade.
We paid less than that for a better LB.

not much less, and I think we’re seeing Robertson’s ceiling already. Davies is still on an upward trajectory with a CL title under his belt at 19yo.
Robertson’s ceiling being the best left back in the world and the best left back for Liverpool in the last 40 years? I mean, as ceilings go, that’s pretty lofty.

that’s a pretty big statement. Not sure I agree with you. definitely our best LB that I have any memory of. But I think I’d take Alonso over him if I had to only pick one. it comes down to the final third of the pitch for me, and Robertson usually leaves something to be desired when it comes to finishing.
Defensively, I think they’re pretty equal.
No offence Semmy but that line is almost on a par with Shelvey being better than Gerrard or 100 strikers better than Sturridge.
Alonso is a terrible defender, there’s a reason he cannot play in a back 4. He’s a wing back. Defensively he is not a patch on Robertson.

re-watch the Chelsea/LFC match from a few weeks ago and pay attention to that Salah/Alonso matchup. and with TAA as well. he did very well to shut that side down.
I’ve been watching both players for years, Robertson is absolutely miles ahead.

I thought Semmy was meaning to write Alphonso but then it became clear he did really mean Marcos Alonso! 
I’d take Tsimikas over Alonso, let alone Robertson. Plus, neither of our guys are murderers.
