I’d be happy, assuming continued upward trajectory, of Gerrard manager, and Lijnders prominent back room role, for continuity. But co managers? Not for me.
It’s possible I’m old fashioned and also remembering Houllier and Evans, but I don’t think co-managers is the way forward.
I would be happy enough with this sort of evolution, and it seems doable.
I struggle to see the club giving bumper new deals to Mo and Mane, and if the former signs, the latter is more vulnerable to a sale. Arguably the club is weighing the pros and cons of selling Mo though, because he would bring in the most money. I hope that’s not happening, but I get the sense that it might be.
Correct, there is a reason he’s not moved. I’d hazard we won’t go for him any more even if he is cleared.
Ah snap, I forgot about the court case he’s going through!
In the case, I retract my statement - and if he’s guilty, then that’s a no-go altogether.
Bowen then? I want a signing this winter - someone that’s robust and can add some depth.
I don’t see Pep being happy as a No.2 longer term. Ultimately, I think he’ll want to be in charge of his own team.
On co-managers - nope, can only have one head chef - can have other leaders within that unit, but the buck stops with one person - two people means divergence of opinions at one point or another which means shit goes sideways.
It was a joke.
I don’t think they would do that, and I think it’s a little premature to speculate yet on who’s replacing Jürgen. For all we know he extends his contract again this summer.
Third choice keepers you’ll pick up for next to nothing. McCarthy or Fraser Forster at Southampton are both out of contract and coming to an age where they’ll probably be happy to sit as third choice at a big club than fight for a place at a lower club.
Fully agree. I think we want to keep Mo but clearly there’s some work to be done there. If we do, he stays and Mane may well be off this summer. If we can’t get a deal with Mo then he’s sold and Mane stays. Only worry is, who has the cash and need for either of them to make it worth selling?
Conservatively, if we sold Mane then we should get at a the very least £40m, likely more than that. Milner goes for nothing and possibly Origi too (I still don’t know what the deal is with his contract). Ox you’d hope for £15m-£20m Phillips and Williams somewhere between £20m-£30m for the pair. Maybe Taki at £10m too and some of the academy kids and that’s somewhere in the region of £85m-£100m. Add in our usual pot of £30-£40m and you could well see a pretty big summer from us. If it’s Mo we sell then that pot is likely significantly bigger.
That could do us something like Luis Diaz (£50m), Johnathan David (£40m) and Yves Bissouma (£40m)*. Three first teamers is probably enough of a change in one summer anyway given where we are and the size of squad Klopp likes to work with.

Still under investigation.
Jarrod Bowen moving to 7 goals and 10 assists in all comps tonight (5&9 in the league), he’ll start getting more recognition now that his stats are following his excellent performances.
Much better player than given credit for. Having a cracking season so far.
Which would suggest that the boat may soon be leaving the harbour on our chances of getting him…

Saw today he’s at the same agency as Trent and Robbo, Trent’s brother is a director there also. We will be in good terms with them. He’s a quality player.
Would love Bowen. English signing which is a bonus. Homegrown talent on the rise.
Clearly the rumors about him this summer had legs. I thought they were odd and out of nowhere at the time, but the scouting team knew something.
Might be priced beyond his ceiling now because, you know, English. But a good hard working effective player.
Fell into the trap of watching Ousmane Dembélé highlight video’s. Man, there has to still be a great player in there somewhere.
I really don’t think we should, but if we took the gamble, i’d get excited.

His injury record makes Sturridge look like peak Suarez reliability.
I’m easily delusional enough to believe that’s all in his past.

Username checks out.
The West Ham winger is on the radar.

Tbh never heard of him until Klopp mentioned him last year and I think that gave him a big boost.
Just out of interest would anybody be interested in Traore at £18m?
When we were linked in the past, the numbers were reaching as high as £60m which was way too much for a pacy but limited player.
At £18m is there a player in there that Klopp could unlock?
I probably would not, because for me it’s not the price, it’s about getting the right player and i’m not convinced he is.
