Flippant comment probably without watching the game

Rice strikes me as one of those players who would raise their game in a stronger side. While I did think he’d make a top class centre back, I admit that he’s become a very good defensive midfielder. I really wouldn’t mind seeing him and Bellingham at the heart of our midfield but we’re talking about 200 million pounds in transfer fees, before wages, so that’s a non-starter for us.

I think we’ll aim for Bellingham + potentially one more of lower profile/cheaper. If we fail to get Bellingham, I don’t think we’ll turn our attention to Rice. But simply try to find stylistically the next target that is comparable to Bellingham.

Rice will be probably taken by some other top PL club.

I hope we don’t get Rice, because I’d spend the next four years arguing he should be a centre back like I do with all of them, and I can’t be arsed.

Liverpool will assess their options in the transfer market ahead of the January window opening at New Year but as things stand Nunez, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino must provide the firepower they need to climb back into the Top 4.

Yeah, no shit James. Thanks for stating the bleeding obvious as you so frequently do.

It’s why I stopped subscribing to The Athletic. Plus they jacked up the price

It’s his nice way of telling fans “don’t expect miracles this January”.

He doesn’t know Jack so he has to put this stuff out.

Rodgers keeps messaging him about Leicester but even Pearce isn’t interested anymore.

24 PL matches still in 2 domestic cup leagues and in the CL and we relying on 3 strikers, an accident waiting to happen …

Same with midfield.

We had problems with quality and quantity in the first (shorter) part of the season.

We don’t know how Fabinho will do after his return. Hendo played many minutes in Qatar. Curtis struggling with another injury. Arthur might take until eastern before he returns from his injury and gets used to our football. Milner being used at RB.

One of Thiago, Naby and Ox will be injured again before the end of the year. Another one before the FA Cup game.

Negligent and naive if with rely on this.

Four of our current midfielders are set to leave in the summer so actually would make sense to bring in someone at the start of January.

No argument from me and I would be flabbergasted if we go into February without a new midfielder who can play immediately

I think you might just be. :joy:

No more Arthur type loan shite please.

Arthur is making better progress from his injury than expected. He IS going to be like a new signing

:see_no_evil:

Jota and Diaz off the hook then?
