Just Arthur, really. We wouldn’t want to get rid of anyone else.
Arthur though, yeah, no point him being in there.

Well, technically it would be not very “family” approach to show Gakpo, especially if Arthur is expected to return earlier then Jota or Diaz. So I am actually expect some sneaky sale (Keita) if we are to buy a midfielder in January.
Good luck trying to convince a player to leave with 6 months left on his contract.
Who’s going to buy an injury-prone midfielder who has 6 months left on his contract
More this, yeah.
So we don’t even need to sell them, just exclude them from the squad for rest of the season? Easy.
Adrian & Naby, send Melo back early.
Klopp absolutely loves Naby, he’ll be given every opportunity between now and the summer to earn a new contract imo.
You deregister Melo, and if necessary Adrian, with Pitaluga or Davies taking the third spot. Naby still has a part to play.
Forgot Pitaluga was on loan, and yes Harvey Davies - look OK in pre-season, and seemed to be Klopp’s fourth choice.
We have several we can bump off the list, should the right midfielder come available in January.
If Keita is to be sold, it will be to a club he wants to go to in summer anyway, and the sum will be very modest, more akin to simply bringing the signing forward to January rather than spending much on the signing.
On our end there is no point in doing it, just in case Keita can still influence some games for us - and a fit Keita is a good player, it’s just that by now we are all resigned to him going as he can’t stay fit.
So, is there a team who might need a midfielder? Is there a country and league that Keita knows, where he has shone before?
2+2=5 but here goes…
We give Dortmund a big wedge of cash and sign Bellingham in January.
They will spend it wisely to buy more talent, and in the immediacy Naby Keita can go there to help them, since we have got him fit.
Can we really imagine Dortmund willing to take Naby Keita with 3 games in his legs this season and rush the sale (for less money) of Jude Bellingham, with them being 6th at the moment?
I want to believe! But yes, 2+2 = 5
Still, here’s the scenario. Jude sits down at the training camp and says I want to leave. Thank you for everything. And Liverpool knows he has a release clause coming up in the summer, a friendly €70M that is not public knowledge.
We give Dortmund €80M to get it done in January. They will have their own list of targets to pursue with the money. They also haven’t forgotten how good Naby Keita was in the Bundesliga. While they don’t want to pay a fee, as they could have him for free in the summer, they are happy to take him on now, especially if Bellingham is leaving sooner rather than later.
Naby is fit, and if he could trust his body he might prefer to keep his options open and see what offers materialize in the summer. But for all he knows he might be injured again by that point, so the offers he hopes for might not happen.
So, at this stage, Naby sees Dortmund as the best team he can get, and is happy to go back to Germany to try to kick start his career again.
It’s all complete fantasy that I’m making up, but you never know!
Nope, not even if someone kidnapped Watzke & Zorc at gunpoint.
Jürgen Klopp has said Cody Gakpo would have been “unaffordable” had Liverpool waited to secure his signature and there remains money available for further signings in the January window. [Andy Hunter, Guardian]
Not quite sure that’s what he said Andy, to me it sounded like he said the type of players that would score 40-50 goals in Spain are unaffordable.
Will watch the press back as was cooking at the same time so wasn’t 100% concentrated on it but I’m sure I heard right.
I think in this case, it is when you pour boiling water into a pot that contains dried noodles :0)
Easiest way is to send back Melo and then get in a midfielder.
We’ll have an easier time next season to find replacements for ox, Keita.
