I think I’m gonna abuse my forum privileges to change your nick to IgorZidane. That’ll teach you.
We are doomed.
I’d rather replace Nunez with someone first and continue using Jota (even if half the time) a little longer rather than look for two strikers in one window. Because even one might be a difficult task, with some positions it also depends on the market situation/dynamic. However, with the team above Slot back in place, now I want to see their creativity.
Well, at least we know that has no chance of happening now!
Look, in all fairness to @Nikola, his mojo about us only seems to extend to transfers.
So we’ll win the league in 2026. You heard it here first.
I think you’re statement is more about desperate hope.
Bynoe-Gittens is doing well at Dortmund. Arguably he could be the winger we go after, in a post Mo Salah world if it comes to it.
As for David, I watched him closely and he didn’t do a lot to impress me. It’s probably unfair though, as most strikers won’t get much change out of our defenders, although he did manage to score when the ball broke kindly for him.
I haven’t seen enough to know if he would be better than Nunez. I’m still on the Darwin Nunez bus, mind.
He’d count as homegrown, right? That might influence some transfer decisions in the summer…
I think Gittens lacks that pace. And Dortmund will take teams for huge money.
Maybe not so much if they end up having a horrible season.
Currently 10th, out of the cup. Last season they were 5th.
Well Sahin is gone now
I think our record of buying players who impressed when playing against us has been middling to say the best.
For every Mane , VVD… There have been guys like Minamino , Nunez who’ve flattered to decieve.
And that doesn’t include guys like Lovren.
Supposedly ETH coming in.
I don’t think he would. He left England in 2020 aged 17 and I think the rules state that a player has to be playing in England for three consecutive seasons between the ages of 16 and 21.
Bynoe-Gittens is very fast indeed. Pace won’t be an issue. He plays off the left, which is a concern as we are stacked on that side. Then again, he is also two-footed and I wouldn’t rule him out from playing on the right. Further, we also have some versatility with other players in our forward line, so there could be some flexibility in how it would all end up.
I think he would be home grown. He had short stints at Chelsea and Man City but got out of there as a kid to pursue the Dortmund path established by the likes of Sancho and Bellingham.
He is starting to demonstrate an eye for goal, and I think he is one to watch. The price would probably be high though, but on the other hand, as a club we should be able to shop at all segments of the market, within reason. We generate a lot of income, and even in our self-sustaining model we should have room to make some moves.
Edit:
I defer to the above post for the home grown ruling.
In addition to Gittens, I would be happy if we went to Bournemouth for both Kekez and Huijsen.
It would mean a big window, as with just those three signings I would imagine we would have to pay something like 170M.
Bradley and Gomez would be the right backs in a post-Trent world.
We might still need a midfielder, but arguably we would stick with what we have as Gravenberch may have changed the calculus there.
It will be interesting to see what we do.

Thought I read somewhere that Bayern were all over Gittens.
