Who would you buy?

Something which a lot of people appear to be forgetting. :+1:

Romano and Falk have suggested he has a release clause this year, but I thought that ran out last summer. I don’t know if they’re both just trying to create false stories about Frimpong and messed up, or whether his release clause is only valid for certain periods of a transfer window i.e. June.

He’s absolutely dominant on the right, although Leverkusen are set-up in a way to compensate for that, and yes, he’d be homegrown too, something we have to consider!

Just the thought of having the energy and dynamism of Frimpong and Kerkez as our fullbacks is an exciting prospect.

It’s questionable whether we’d field two such players at full backs in a 4 at the back. Whether it would be the right balance defensively and offensively.

Tah would be a good signing and he is free.

Barcelona and Real are after him.

I just saw Baleba score a nice goal for Brighton and heard the goalrush commentator (Don Hutchinson…) claim he is a ‘100m player’. Know nothing about him - apparently he is a 21 yo from Cameroon who has played 50 times in the PL and can play across the midfield - does anyone have anything useful to add?

That should be your obvious clue.

His reputation may be aided by the reputation Brighton now have finding elite midfield talent but from day 1 in that side he’s been looked at as a player who won’t be with them very long

Yeah, he’s shite.

Baleba is very good indeed. Not worth 100M in my eyes, but the market is crazy, and he probably will be worth that, so there’s a sense that you are partially buying the player as is, and the player as-will-be.

If the price is too ridiculous, Lamine Camara at Monaco looks a similar player, albeit not Premier League proven - if that matters; and I would imagine Camara would cost about half of what Baleba would cost at this stage.

You beat me to it about Baleba he was outstanding for Brighton today we could do worse than get him but let’s try and not alert chelski otherwise Brighton will pull the same trick as the one with Caicedo. Another one was Cunha I don’t care how aggressive he is as long as he isn’t a biter we should get him.

Have you seen the 10 games?

I seem to think Camara is quite short. I think we need some grunt in the MF. Then again Kante was short! And Sammy Lee

I don’t know what is Camara’s best role in midfield, but he’s basically the same height as Mascherano was. 1cm shorter…

He’s short, he’s round, he bounces on the ground…
