He probably means Hendo lol.
But Hendo is 31, and I do see the merit of buying Rice because it will allow Hendo to focus on his No.8 position.
As for Gini, IMO we should let Jones replace him.

Note that if we sell AOC, an English player, we are going to replace him with another domestic player.
Is Jake Cain ready for some senior football or not quite yet? How’s Grujic? Could he be counted as homegrown yet ?
I don’t see the need for Rice at a big price as long as we have Fabinho as one of the best #6’s in the world.
Jones is not the type of player Gini is.
There will always be more than adequate alternatives for every 100+ mil player. This principle might not be 100% foolproof but we have proven it more than once. Only twice did we go in high for a player that we must absolutely have.
Edit: as good a potential Rice might be, he is not 100mil good, there will be plenty as good, if not better, at half that price
Like you said, we splash that kind of cash when it’s absolutely necessary. There isn’t any gaping hole, thanks to years of diligent work, which requires a player who is best in his class. This summer is about supplementing the squad and succession planning.
Camavinga is available for half the price Rice is and is twice the player and younger. Unlike Rice he can play the 8 role as well as the 6 role. Rice can play CB but not in a good enough way for us I wouldn’t think.
If we need to worry about home grown players (not that I think we do, Klopp will likely go back to a streamlined squad next season and not get near to 25 seniors) then Adrian and Ox out is easily replaced by a home grown, veteran, 3rd choice Keeper and Camavinga.
Salah, Jota and Mané interchanging positions but I think the new attacker should be a CF in the first place.
Don’t think Salah will want to (or be best at) play more defensively from the age of 29 onwards…
Man City would have destroyed our midfield with that formation.
How about Jude Bellingham?
Thank god we are not playing Man City every week.
Oh and, we lost at home with a midfield 3 against them and away with 4 attackers on the pitch we played 1-1.
We played that formation away at City this season and drew 1-1.
And that was without VvD and Fabinho.
I’ll throw an odd name out: Daryl Dike. Not sure he’s ready (or good enough) for Liverpool but he fits the profile I assume Edwards is looking for. He’s a 20 year old American on loan at Barnsley from Orlando FC, and has scored 7 in 13 so far. He’s big, powerful, and has fit in seamlessly after going to Barnsley on last day of transfer window, and was pretty much instantly their best player. Barnsley has an option to purchase at the end of the loan, but the number is high enough that they won’t afford it unless they get promotion through playoffs (which is a possibility, they’re tearing up the table), and even then would be iffy. But it’s a built in price through the loan agreement (rumored to be $20 mil, but sources on the figure very dodgy, but won’t be more than that), so if we go to them and say activate the clause and we’ll give you 22…
It’s the sort of trick I Edwards sits in his office and daydreams about (probably).
He’s a bit raw but has all the same ingredients as Origi…maybe he can combine them better and put them to better use. Barnsley play a high intensity press with a front three and are very direct.
He has the same ingredients as Origi
Will get a CL at least
Same physical traits…big and strong.
Sounds like a porn star. He’ll have to get ‘tache tips from Alisson.
Watching Wolves stink the place out (again) and everything good they do comes through Neto (again).
Without him they’d be in a relegation battle. World class talent.
