Stupid from Lauren James. No way you can argue that it was anything other than a red card.

But England now have their new villan to blame for not winning today

That would imply she had a good thought about it. Lost her shit, out of frustration. Stupid in hindsight, but not the first time that has happened.

Sheā€™s getting up from on top of the Nigerian player. The natural thing to do is NOT to stand on somebody lying underneath you. Itā€™s obviously a deliberate decision.

England look knackered. Iā€™ve been watching on and off until now, so maybe I missed the substitutions. Have there been any England substitutions before the sending off? There was one as a result of the red, but I donā€™t think there were any others before that. Doesnā€™t the coach have any faith in her subs?

Iā€™m sure if it had been accidental her first reaction would have been to aplogise. But she just walked away as if nothing had happened.

Geez, yes of course it was deliberate, but I doubt sheā€™d do it if she had a good thought about it. Lost her shit in the moment.Shouldnā€™t happen, but it does. Humans and all that.

Not the first, and wonā€™t be the last player to do that.

However, this is the sort of thing that a coach should work on a player with. Sheā€™s 21, so still time to learn.

ā€œIf Nigeria score, have England got a Plan B?ā€

Yeh, score an equaliser dickhead!

Sort of assumes that Plan A is not scoringā€¦

Zidane headbutted in a final at the end of his career.

He just took early retirement.

Maybe he wanted to make sure people remembered him.

Bronze very lucky she didnā€™t give away a penalty there.

Englandā€™s sub (no.19) looks like a blonde Nunez.

England are already missing three nailed on starters through injury at this tournament so maybe not so muchā€¦

Bethany England

Her name is actually England?

Yep think soā€¦

Mind = blown

Yup

Nigeria are physically and pace-wise superior to England. And no lack of individual skill. The thing that has kept England in this is their team cohesion and passing under pressure
