I quite like Yakuba. Almost as fast as Barcola. Faster than Munoz. Big unit who has bullied us before. Sort of Mane without the finishing yet.
Can also play 9 so Cody can go.
Of course the injury is a wrinkle. A big one.
Him, Barcola, Munoz & Ngumoha is decent depth and pace to burn.
Ornstein on TNT sports. Minteh is a numbers game but we have a back up option (I would assume Mbaye, could be someone else). If we land Barcola Gakpo goes

Watched the ScoutNation video to try and get more excited about the prospect of Minteh, still not convinced about him as an attacking player but there were quite a few good tackles, he would probably be one of our better injured right back options were he to join

Since we have that international break coming up soon—which has actually been extended—we’ll probably see him back in the squad sooner than it feels like right now. If anyone knows what I mean—I’m looking for a silver lining here

Assuming anyone who comes in now misses Newcastle, his injury would see him miss only 4 additional league games. I assume once the CL draw is made there will probably be one or two additional games in that period as well

Sounds a bit naive to me. You guys expect him to be back in team training in 4-5 weeks and be ready to go. Without a pre-season (with us)?!
Anyone remember how long it took Isak to finish his ‘personal pre-season’ with us after he came in very late (without an injury)?

Didn’t he have a full preseason with Brighton and only pick up that injury recently in a friendly? Or am I mixing something up? Isak had been training alone for weeks—that’s a difference, after all.

The greater issue with Isak last season was every time he started to look like he was getting up to speed he’d get a minor knock and get set back, before finally getting his leg broken.
Not a guarantee it won’t happen with Minteh as well of course, but I don’t think it would be as bad.
