Lets just use 150mil and buy 10-20 of these free agent wingers for a year or two. More than enough to pay their salaries and we can play a different winger every month

Minteh’s not worth 80m or as some articles claim 95m. His production is not proven yet. I could probably accept 60m + 10m in achievable addons. But it sounds like they really have no intention of selling.

At 80m well past time we told Brighton to do one and look around PDQ,and stop bloody selling,or emptying this getting silly.
That’s what happens when you wait while other clubs set the market. If we moved for Minteh a month ago, we probably have him for closer to 40M.

This is what happens when you leave it untul late in window.. you get stung or you get no one. So are we down to the 5th choice on our list. This summer is fast becoming a disaster.

You said late, not deadline day. They were all late in their respective windows. Most were part of our recent success under Klopp and beyond.
I also doubt whichever wingers we sign will be done as late as deadline day

We knew Salah was leaving 6 months ago. Succession planning should have started 1-2 years ago. Why the fuck are we scrambling around after season has started?

Well isn’t this turning into a cluster fuck.
A week on from our opening bid and we find out they want at least 50% more than we offered.
A week to go in the window and we’re no closer to replacing Salah than we were the day we found out he was leaving. Got to be what, six months. Nothing short of incompetence now.

If the club are genuinely interested in Minteh as a long-term proposition, they would be better off waiting until January when he is fit again and we have a full time sporting director who is committed to the club.
I just feel that selling clubs are inventing silly prices at the moment. Walk away and send a message that we aren’t that desperate.
