Ahh what a poster ARD was. Miss him, in a way.
I like Minteh. We need more work rate. With Minteh on the same side, I’ll be more confident with Frimpong going forward. That would be a big bonus.
I’m glad bid for Minteh was rejected. £50 million for a player who’s out injured for three months. Is Hughes completely mad??
aquilani-ish
I think the idea would be to sign him with the next 5 years in mind, not the next 5 matches.
Rafa-ish
Stupidly late move.
I can’t think of many more right wingers available of a high quality so even though he’s injured, he just might be the only one we think is worth getting long term.
But yes why was this not done months ago, who knows
So confused by this. I like the player but he’s been sat there since May and only now we move for him.
Implies either something else we wanted to do isn’t happening, in which case what is that? If it’s Barcola then that seems like a massive step down and if it’s Mbaye that seems nuts for the two to be seen as solutions to the same need.
Or is this basically a Gakpo swap and we’re still in for both the PSG lads? But Spurs already seem quite far along with Savinho so surely that’d spell the end of their pursuit of Gakpo.
Did we really think £50m would do it? And didn’t he used to play under Slot at Feynoord so he’s not going to be used to graft. Also when does the AFCON tournament happen these days or are we just really into having a big hole on our left wing every other January. So many questions.
Just to comment on the Gakpo part, there were reports a day or two ago that Spurs wanted all three (Savio, Marmoush AND Gakpo).
So if we are taking another look at Minteh, maybe there is something to the idea that we want to bring another in if he goes.
Re AFCON, he’s Gambian, I’m not sure if they qualify for the tournament on the regular?
On the work ethic thing, he’s actually incredibly hard working, seriously it’s his standout attribute.
Interesting, although how the hell they can afford all three plus the £230m they’ve already spent I do not know.
I guess the other point is if City sells both of them and there’s the possibility Grealish may leave too then is there a risk they come in for Barcola or Minteh and blow us out the water?
Was being a bit tongue in cheek on those other comments. I’d really like him no matter when AFCON is.
Hughes and his deadline day addiction.

signs for LFC,
it turns into a 16 week layoff…
If he were to come in as a replacement for Chiesa, it would definitely be an improvement in the long run.
The rumour mill in France is suggesting we’ll have the Barcola fee agreed this week, but are ready walk away from Mbaye
Why are we leaving it so late???
Personally i think the consortium talks took priorty for fsg.
Wouldnt be surprising given the money at stake
