I never thought I’d see our players in situation like this

That’s an amazing picture and I am sure the usual Kopites will make a banner at matches in future.

I was curious to see what the reactions were on Bluemoon and Redcafe. It’s heartwarming to see everybody put rivalry aside instantly.

Diogo looks like he’s the boss who is well vexed about something and is gonna tell Kelleher to go assassinate someone

This one is so beautiful, perfect Johnny Cash soundtrack.

Thought I was done with the tears.

Nope.

I going to have to mute this thread in the next few days, hopefully the only thread I get to mute out of sadness. Was so excited when we signed him.

How are we all today?

I still keep thinking of his family. How are his team-mates going to come back an train without him at Kirkby?
I still can’t believe that our No:20 has gone somewhere.

Amazing how tragedy brings out the best in people, a friend of mine, who is normally obnoxious as a Man U fan, offered his heartfelt commiserations in regards to the loss of Diogo and it was really appreciated.

Beyond football, our Diogo (and I am sure his little brother Andre, who (you just know) emulated his illustrious brother) clearly was a genuine lad. A kind-hearted, funny, generous soul. You don’t get responses of this depth and volume otherwise:

As Mourinho said “when people pass away everyone says, ‘oh he was such a nice guy’, but Diogo was genuinely a nice guy.

I’m one if two siblings. Thought about how would my parents feel if both myself and my sister went at the same time?

I, also, am a dad of three children.

My wife lost her dad in her 20s. My ex lost her dad when she was two.

They were both profoundly affected by those losses. As we would naturally expect. But more than we realise. It changes who you become.

Feeling new grief for Rute and their beautuful babies. And for the Silva parents.

May they gain solace and draw strength, now and in the days to come, from the outpouring of love and affection for the two shining lights they’ve lost. Especially from the footballing brothers that spent the most time with them.

The Silva parents must be amazing, exemplary folks to have raised such amazing, exemplary men.

Diogo and Andre left this world a slightly better place from when they came. That’s all that matters..

Are the circumstances of the accident better known now? Have more details been released?
