Darren Lewis from his Mirror column summed it up well ‘it was Jota himself who,on World Mental Health Day last October, said « there is not a moment that I don’t think about my mental health.Sometimes we are able to deal with that by ourselves and sometimes we need to speak with someone.when you feel something is not great you try and correct it. I have it here[pointing to his head] but then when I say out loud, it gives you a different feeling. «
It is to hope that through this period,Liverpool’s hierarchy, staff and players remember to say that quiet part out loud.
There is love and support out here for them.
Already some progress

I really struggle to think of things to say, but I want to say something. It’s such a strange kind of grief. Somebody I don’t really know - happens all the time, but somehow he’s one of our own; that’s always different, and it feels selfish or frivolous for me sometimes, to feel that much about one particular stranger, but it isn’t. I guess that’s the beauty of football, and community. He wouldn’t recognise me, but he wasn’t really a stranger.
I’m dead proud of the way LFC has handled it, top to bottom, and even down to us writing nonsense on a silly football forum; I’m proud to be part of this TIA/TAN community that I’ve been involved with for 18+ years (I was 15 when I first signed up; you pricks raised me, for better or worse, or worse).
Can’t even imagine the pain the family continues to suffer.
I’ll miss him.
Does explain a bit. Anyone being raised by the likes of us is bound to turn out a degenerate
Wolves have inducted Diogo Jota into the club’s Hall of Fame, in the ultimate tribute after tragically losing his life.
In a statement, Wolves explained how inductions into their Hall of Fame normally require:
“Many weeks or months, but in this case the decision was unanimous - a reflection of the overwhelming emotion felt by supporters and the wider football community, and the remarkable legacy Diogo leaves behind.”
A simply heartwarming gesture.

Ear rippling applause should break out at the twenty minute mark in every game this season, both home and away me thinks…
A way of bringing him with us every week on this seasons journey, and especially, to whatever finals we reach.
I was at a friend’s dinner party a couple of nights ago and everyone also had their kids over. They were playing FIFA. The match was France vs Portugal. Suddenly struck me again as I watched computer-generated Diogo rampage around the pitch and set up Ronaldo for a goal. And then wildly celebrate with his compatriots.
Portugal won 5-2. Two assists by Jota
Can’t keep a good man down
Considering his prominence in sports gaming it wouldn’t surprise me if EA sports keep him in the game forever as a playable character for Liverpool who never gets sold.
Would love that!!!
I might email them, it would be a lovely touch and the EA sports group do have legends throughout their games.
