In the last few years I’ve followed my local team Aberdare Town.
They play in tier 4 in Wales and are very much an amateur side, no payment for the players etc.
Don’t get to go watch but always look out for their results.
@aberdaretown
If anybody is interested
Well, my second team is Brechin City FC from Scotland.
https://www.brechincity.com/bcfc/p
They lost their relegation play off and now play in the Highland League.
Bastards!!!
How could they do that to my beloved Clach!
Fucking jail if caught…
Since I am in West London, I used to go to primary school which was not too far from Loftus Road, my local team was Queens Park Rangers (QPR), so have a soft spot for them.
Bundesliga: Dortmund
Ligue Un: Olympique Marseille
Serie A: AC Milan
La Liga: Barcelona
Primera Liga: Benfica
Brasileirão A: Flamengo (because of Zico)
Argertine Primera Division: River Plate
Scottish Premier league: Celtic (Scottish family are, so its obligatiry)
Eerste Divisie: Ajax
Edited
Well if your going to do it like that,
Scottish premiership: Aberdeen
English lower divisions: Exeter City
Ligue un: Nantes (if they are in it) then L’OM
Budesliga: any team that beats Bayern de Munich
La Liga: Any team that beats Real Madridy, Barca and the other Madridriany team.
That’s about it! Well I have a soft spot for Wolves due to a mate from that neck of the woods.
Just came across this statement, made in 2020. I’ll have to amend this since the Saudis have now taken over the club, unfortunately so. Nothing against the fans, but I can’t bring myself to wish them well anymore, even from far.
I’ll go with Crystal Palace. They have a noisy bunch of supporters, and their little, traditional stadium has something about it. Fulham is another club I have a soft spot for.
So being a bit of an FM connoisseur, I tend to find shit clubs in shit leagues attracting me like a fly attracted to shit, so my favourite Non- LFC teams are:
Australia: Gold Coast United (RIP)
Mongolia: Khoromkhon
Napal: Butwal Lumbini FC
Kyrgyzstan: Kara-Balta
Forgot the Dutch and Scottish leagues, sorry.
Ah another Khoromkhon fan! Hail fellow, well met. Their reserve LB is really knocking on the door there and I reckon they’re in for a shake up if he gets a run in the team. Exciting times for all Khonies
I dunno the cosplaying in Arab costume made me feel a bit sick, I think they belong perfectly together. I hope somehow it goes sour.
Must have come through recently, as the LB I remember was a 34yo with not 1 stat above 5. And he was considered to be bringing the average age of the squad down.
And he wasn’t even my worst player
Hahaha
Oh FFS Maria, no, no, no, no …
It is because of Johan Cruyff, he was my Dad’s idol. I knew you would get mad and get the tomatoes out! If you give me an alternative, the club which remotely as an affinity to LFC, do let me know please.
Was just teasing Maria.
The club that comes close to Liverpool is Feyenoord, they are from Rotterdam a big harbour city as you might know and a true blue collar town.
Lots of Feyenoord supporters support Liverpool in the PL because of the similarity between the clubs and city.
You’d better hide when Dutch gets the tomatoes out
Never really had a serious affinity to anyone else. I have always liked AC Milan from back in the days Channel 4 used to show the Italian league on a Sunday afternoon.
In fairness it was seeing the San Siro during Italia 90 that really caught my attention and once I knew there was ostensibly a red team and blue team that played there I was always going to pick the red one. Actually made my wife do the stadium tour with me whilst we travelled round Italy on our honeymoon a few years back now.
The only other team I’ve really paid any attention too was the now defunct Gretna Green and it was all very random how that came about. Used to spend Saturday’s with a mate watching the early kickoff game, then down the bookies for an accumulator and then watch scores roll in on Soccer Saturday. We started to notice Gretna were smashing everyone in the Scottish third division and a guy called Kenny Deuchar was bagging a hatful of goals every week. So much so that they eventually did a feature on him with Jeff Stelling going up north to interview him.
It became our weird little thing to be the odd blokes in the corner of a pub on Leicester cheering on a Scottish third division team. We even bought club shirts and talked about sponsoring the matchball as part of a lads weekend away just so we could meet Kenny. After a meteoric rise to the Scottish Premier League their benefactor sadly passed away and the club went out of existence shortly after. But they were great days and I still have that shirt boxed up with all my old Liverpool ones.
@Dutch
Okay, now, its official, after 24 hours, i pledge my allegience✋️ I will watch Feyenoord😀
