It’s been coming. Add to this

  1. The expanded Champions League
  2. The expanded Club World Cup
  3. The possibility of overseas league games
  4. The trans continental preseason games

Stop worrying about my korma and start worrying about Spain winning. You have been distracted and it’s showing.

Squad size increase would be of no benefit (fatigue wise)to the same 11-15 players continually picked by managers. It would only work if managers where told they had to use upwards of 20/25 players for an agreed amount of time with no players playing more than say 75% of minutes.

Fair points.

Something else I only just thought about was the cost to the individual FA’s having to support so many players/staff for so long. I reckon bar maybe 10 FA’s, most would probably not be in a position to financially deal with so many people being supported whilst away from home.

Clubs could also end up losing players for pre-season and maybe even the first few games of the season after this world cup which could have an impact on their success.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see players retiring early from international football due to these extended tournaments.

Iran, Japan, Korea, Jordan, and Uzbekistan have qualified. The extended format means that the scums like Saudi Arabia, and UAE still have a fair chance of qualifying.

Wales level against Belgium after going down three.

Bellamy > Ancelotti.

Bellers had a HT rage.

I hate Lukaku. What an asshole.

Love VAR.

Virgil with a belter from just inside the box off a 1-2 with Frenkie de Jong. Already 3-0 over Malta…Depay on a hat trick already. Tied with RvP for all-time Dutch goals scored.

Australia qualify……yee fucking ha

Now to draw England

And to play in Canada rather than USA. I’m tempted to head over if that’s the case.

Tuchel already feeling the pressure - apparently he’s not even sure what sport he is coaching now:

A quote from the Guardian report:
A breathtaking game of football that will go down in the annals of Asian football this was not. But given the stakes involved and the final result, few of a green and gold persuasion will care.

Maybe a little better compared to the previous game v Japan and the Spurs/United final.

But it was about results on all occasions.

All of the outrageous spending in the local Saudi League and they can’t even beat the Aussies.

Can’t think of a single sport the Sandi’s are even okay at. No surprises given how the place is run

🚨 FIFA are struggling to fill the stadium for the opening match of the Club World Cup where Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami will face Al Ahly. The Hard Rock stadium’s capacity is 65.000 but only 20,000 tickets have been sold. 🤯😭

FIFA have found a solution and have now entered a partnership with Miami Dade College, a university of 100,000 students. Every student that buys a ticket for the game, will get another 4 extra tickets, with the price for 1 ticket at only €3,50.

🗣️ Gianni Infantino: “We will fill the stadium, and the atmosphere will be incredible. It’s true that there are still tickets available, but we will sell many more tickets in the coming days.”
