2026 FIFA World Cup qualification

Hundreds of people lined up for the Italy-for-Canada jersey swap in Toronto. Canada Soccer didn’t actually collect the Italian jerseys, they just handed out their 2026 kits and posters to fans

I’d bet against any of this

Boston Transport Authority has responded to the furor over their $80 train ticket prices from Boston to the stadium by rolling out a new bus service for the games. Ticket price for a return on the bus? $95

He’s usually pretty good at it, he predicted Argentina to win the last WC.

Anyway, elsewhere, Carlos Queiroz is the new head coach of Ghana.

The journey from Penn Station in Manhattan to the venue in New Jersey, which is about 18 miles, shows more than an 11-fold increase on the usual $12.90 (£9.50) for a return fare.

I’d really hope that fans from abroad will call it a day and stay at home. If this scandalous highjacking isn’t enough to keep them away, what is? First the ticket prices, then this. What comes next then? Hotels? Food? Water? A special fee for breathing their precious US air?

Even if they paid me, I still wouldn’t go.

Forgetting about why you just wouldn’t go to the US, FIFA deserve to see this world cup be a disaster.

Worse is that to link the increased price to the games you will need a ticket to even be on this train in periods around the game, periods where it usually moves millions of locals who now will be locked out their normal transport route

I’d go to Canada if I won tickets and I have put this as the preference. Wouldn’t go to landmass below.

When it was announced that the World Cup would be held in North America and Toronto would host a few matches, I was over the moon and rubbing my hands to get tickets to one or 2 matches…but then finding out the outrages price of the tickets (and my dad’s mobility), I shelved that idea. I wonder if I would regret it not attending a rare event once in my life time (just like how I am regretting not exploring more when I was in the UK and definitely not exploring more of Liverpool when I was studying there).

Superbowl style show at half time show at the world cup…

predetermined it will be a ‘raging success despite the doubt before hand’

fuck off. just, fuck off.

It is expected to increase halftime to 25 minutes

FIFA is eating itself. Hopefully the whole thing comes crashing down. World Cups used to be the pinnacle and joyous occasions for football. They are no longer deserving of the title.
