Waste of space
Look at Adrian here… not towards that side, you dummy.
Are Fabino and Adrian twins?
Hopefully we don’t see any more of him on the pitch - except maybe for the trophy presentation(s)!
He’ll most likely be sold at the end of the season.
I think his contract will be up anyways if I’m not mistaken so it’s doubt it will be renewed
Yeah, he’s in his final year.
I expect @Dutch has the date marked on his calendar and has been eagerly crossing the days off.
That tweet before the game looks very embarrassing now. I wonder if it even pissed Klopp off?
If we play a total kids team against Midgetland then I’d give Adrian one final liverpool game. Expect that it could damage Queevins confidence if he was to concede a few there and he’ll have just played twice in close succession.
(I’m not on those social media) What does the tweet say?
Don’t think there was anything wrong in his tweet. He just posted CL time, which he does before many games. He didn’t mention he would be playing or anything, which would have been bad.
PS. I know many of us don’t like him, but he’s still one of us, cheers for us throughout and has been a professional… so there’s no reason to hate him as well. This anyways would be his last season for us in all probability, we can thank him and be done with, without being harsh on him, as he did contribute to a couple of trophies no matter the other games where he would have fcked up.
Noting serious or special. Just something along the lines, Champions League night again with some emojis.
Its one thing to critique his playing ability, its another thing to unnecessarily insult him. He is not at our level, nowhere near but he always had been respectful and professional. Some of the criticism border on being personal rather than on his professional performance
Absolutely.
He is serving us with loyalty & passion and deserves every bit of our respect.
Exactly and I’m pretty sure he was a big part of our start last season without Alisson.
Absolutely right. Unfortunately our fan base includes scumbags and plastics just like any other top side.
I wish him nothing but the best. I have nothing personal against him as I stated before. IMHO he is just not good enough to be our nr2 goalkeeper and I have expressed that opinion and why I think he is not good enough.
If that makes me a scumbag and a plastic in your opinion, so be it.
For a 2nd goalie, he was needed more than we were hoping he would be. Mixed, but ultimately, we need better quality/style/reliability from Ali’s backup. He surely has a few years left in him. We’ll see next summer what we do there. I actually don’t mind us having what it seems like a thousand goalkeepers. The club and decision makers might like what Achterberg and the rest are doing with scouting, transfers, training and general use of them. As long as they’re good, that’s only positive for me. We either get players for the first team or we sell them for a decent fee like Ward and/or they have a nice career elsewhere like Gulacsi.
The question of whether he is good enough to be a back up really hinges on what is meant by a back up, and the key factor in that is Alisson’s fitness.
When bringing in Adrian he was probably the best we could hope for. Alisson had not shown any signs of injury and it was reasonable to expect a back up would be playing the domestic cup early rounds and sitting on the bench. No hope of dislodging Alisson, and no doubts about his future to encourage a number two he could become number one.
But the last couple of seasons have seen Alisson struggle with a number of niggly injuries, that means the likelihood is that the back up keeper at LFC is going to play 10 league games.
That opens the possibly of getting in a better number two (If Kelleher isn’t getting that role). Adrian’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he’ll leave having earned his medals and with everyone’s best wishes.
