Agree. He’s been one of, if not the, worst signings under Klopp but he still contributed very importantly in those CL games and no doubt behind the scenes. Not all signings can work perfectly but my main criticism with the Ox signing was price - we paid 35m for him when he only had 12 months left at Arsenal and he had already shown himself injury prone. I remember he allegedly agreed a significantly lower base with us than elsewhere and it is a sign of how we’ve developed that we now are signing Ox type players (ie very highly regarded youngsters like Carvalho and Elliot) directly (like Arsenal 15 years ago) rather than trying to rehabilitate those that haven’t quite worked out - eg. Sturridge, Acquilani, Pennant.
How can anyone say Oxlade-Chamberlain has been the worst signing under Klopp when we have this guy?
Had
Shame how one game can define a signing, even a career.
Ox is just another player which the team has moved beyond his playing style. He was really good on transition, but against a low block defensive set up with minimal space he struggles and looks lost.
Good player, was excellent until the Roma injury, sure he will want to play and not waste his career.
You are totally right, of course. I have totally repressed Karius. Even if he was free (and I think we paid a couple of mill for him?) he clearly tops this list. Mea culpa
Happy for him but wonder if he’ll start focusing on his football career a bit more and less of playing the cheerleader at his missus concerts?
Any evidence of this?
Hes been relatively fit, but unable to break into the team. The teams evolved and hes not been able to keep up. That doesnt mean hes slacking or not focused, and certainly Klopp wouldn’t allow it.
Seems a smear of his character.
Relatively fit because he never plays to be in with a chance of getting injured…unable to break into the team…I wonder why 2 kids are ahead of him in the team? Ever wondered?
Since when is having kids ahead of you in the pecking order an insight into their commitment? Its more likely the others are performing better in training.
Again, none of this warrants claiming hes slacking, not committed, or going to little mix gigs week in week out. Absurd.
Sometimes I wonder why people even give this troll any airtime…
Sun’s shining, beer is cold and you post that? Really???
IF that’s really true, then pre-season might decide over a few cases.
I’d be surprised if I’m honest, the fact he couldn’t get on at the end of the season would suggest that wasn’t he even missing from the bench.
Surprised and not so much surprised.
Players being able to run down their contracts means a big payday for them.
They have every right to do so of course.
Bobby’s ‚I want to stay’ and Salahs ‚I’m staying next season for sure’ mean nothing else than them going for the big paycheck before having kicked a ball for their new club next summer.
So what you are saying is that Mane took one for the team and gave up some cash to leave a year early so we got a fee and Bobby and Mo could pimp themselves next summer to get a lil’ richer? Another public service from the brilliant Senegalese. Ironically it would appear (based on the range and number of cars for eg Bobby appears with) that many of these players don’t actually know what to do with moar ca$h.
Oh, they know exactly what to do with it: ruin the planet for everyone else.
Loads of cars and overseas holidays are not good.
What are you doing personally with regards to saving the planet?
