Are you not reading or just been awkward, I said if we continue with what we have after Monday we are one injury to Mo or Gakkers from disaster. Mo has accounted for 71% of our goals in the last 3 years. From that we have lost Diaz, Nunez and Jotas contributions.
Relying on a 22 year old in his first season in England a 16 year old and someone whos had fitness issues is going to take us to top 4 at least.
Marc Guéhi can play both positions if I’m not mistaken.

If you are expecting Liverpool to walk this league after having so many changes , i would say you should be expecting some disappointments.
I hope Liverpool does walk the league but no team has done do many wholesale changes to their main X1 and still managed to win.

Sure. I’m just stating that we need to keep our expectations in check. It’s totally okay to not complete our squad revamp in one season. It’s totally okay to expect some players to take some time to get used to the league.

It really isnt ok (to the degree its ok to be riled up about shit people do on a football pitch). We won the league last year and there is absolutely no reason to find ourselves in the middle of a squad revamp we cannot complete. Refreshing or retooling to support Slot’s specific needs is one thing, but tyou do that at the same pace you can bring in the new pieces. If you cannot get the players you need to complete the revamp then find a way to make use the players who won you the league already for one more year. Specifically Diaz.
To be clear, I am not being critical here because the window is not closed yet. I am just acknowledging the very real concerns about how well the current group is set up to be able to go through the season. There is work to do and it will surely be an issue if we fail to do it. And if that happens it will be a problem entirely of our own making.

I just have visions of Newcastle’s board all sitting round a fax machine since final whistle on Monday saying to each other “I thought the bid was imminent? - Can we go home or not?”

They may learn a bit of how we have done transfers this past few years. Get some sort of deal in place before telling everyone who they want.
