Alexander Isak (CF) Newcastle

After United ruin you, best to hang onto the good wages for as long as possible

I can’t think of any player who has left United after a disaster spell and has gone on to recover a career.

Di María survived. His wife probably still has nightmares, though.

Lukaku?

“I think tonight’s developments [Sesko seemingly preferring Man United over Newcastle] increases the odds of Alexander Isak being told he has to stay at Newcastle United this summer.”

Maybe Jürgen can step in and tell RB they shouldn’t sell him to United etc :joy:

i said this the other day. United would scupper Isaks move to us.
if sesko gos to united Isaks dream move is never happening. Unhappy or not.

Hope does seem to express a fair bit of “Cope” in his reporting.

Hughes and Edwards are going to play a blinder by buying Sesko for 60-65 million pounds. Isak will eventually join next season. The second option will be loan Ekiteke/Sesko for 25 million a season and sell Nunez for 60-65 million and buy Isak for 120 million pounds. lol.

One more option is to loan Hughes for the Summer Transfer Window and get the Sesko deal done for them  On a lighter note, These guys cant buy anything except Chips at this rate and i meant Potato Chips as Mr.Trump wont sell AI Chips to them  haha

The idea of a player preferring to go to Man Utd over Newcastle for footballing reasons is bollocks, and since Newcastle have spent the summer lowballing everyone and failing to sign any of their targets, I suspect they are offering him substantially less than Man Utd.

It also adds more fuel to Isaks desire to get out if they are getting gazumped by United.

If anything its going to strain the relationship between Isak and the Toons even more the 7th target they have missed out on.

I’m on record here saying that I liked Isak as much as 5 years ago, but I wouldn’t bat an eyelid if his move didn’t pan out.

I see no point going after him, at a record price no less, when we already have Ekitike. By all means, get another versatile forward, but another pure No.9?

No thanks

Newcastle to consider taking legal action against Liverpool :police_car_light::red_exclamation_mark:

Liverpool have had informal contact with Isak’s representatives, reportedly indicating interest and readiness to negotiate around £120m.

However, those messages were received WITHOUT Newcastle’s prior consent—leading to accusations of tapping-up.

Newcastle believe Liverpool may have breached unwritten ethical boundaries by contacting Isak’s camp without formal consent.

As a result, legal advisors are reviewing the matter, with the club contemplating formal action or referral to regulatory bodies.

I am not yet against it as my attitude for the whole summer has been to let Hughes and Slot cook to deliver the team he thinks he needs. But it definitely has the smell of a Mbappe to Real sort of move where you get the attraction - an opening in a very small window of opportunity you will ever have to sign a player you love and who has few peers. But that doesnt always make you a better side. Especially when your starting point is as good as we were last year.

Yup..Good luck with that twats..We will get him next season for 80 million pounds. Isnt there a rule or something where the player can buyout his contract if he pays his wages to the club for the remaining period?

Failing around

Technically yes, but its supposedly quite legally perilous and doesnt necessarily mean someone else can sign them as an out of contract player.

Got you..Think we will back off then. Hughes was very sure that we wont bid unless its a yes from NewCastle. Looks like now thats not the case we will be looking elsewhere. Wont surprise me if we buy Sesko now for 65 million pounds again.
