I mean, I only enjoy if these are the right moves for us… the pure net spend figure isn’t positive by default. It’s more the fact that we are doing well and can do it.
I’m sure we will see similar summers and even bigger ones, comfortably.
Money in football changes, increases and we are one of the world’s biggest clubs.
There will be more records and more summers like this.

It’s not so much the total spend, although I don’t see that being topped for a while, it’s more the volume of business in one window.
A proper keeper, two full backs, likely a CB, a record for a midfielder, probably two forwards and possibly even a third.
It’s an unprecedented level of business for one summer and none of them are “backups”, squad fillers or teenage prospect types at this stage. It’s all top quality players.

There will be less and more active windows. In this one, we had a tragic even that happens very rarely. Sometimes we have to change a bit more and it also depends on opportunities on the market.
They’re not all equally top players though, some of them will have to prove it at this level. Some of them don’t have to be classified as starters of backups, they go into competition and the best ones will be picked.
But landing someone like Wirtz is big (even if it is from a “Leverkusen”).
We didn’t see that very often and that is by far my favourite move this summer.

It’s becoming clear to me that no one really knows what’s happening with Isak other than the principles.
The “leaks” over the past several days have been all over the place.
We’ve bid 110m for Isak, no add ons.
We’ve bid 110m + add ons.
We’ve bid 120m + add ons.
Liverpool will be making a second bid quickly. Liverpool is out on Isak for this window.
Liverpool is still in, but waiting for Newcastle to sanction an approach.
Liverpool and Newcastle have an understanding and it’s just a matter of time.
Newcastle will not sell Isak.
Newcastle will sell Isak once they sign Sesko and Wissa.
Newcastle wants both Isak and Sesko.
Liverpool are moving on to Rodrygo.
Liverpool have no interest in Rodrygo.
One of these guesses is bound to be right.

Does this player want to play for us or not…I get the impression he’s fighting one off against the other…if he wanted to play for LFC…he would say so…I think he’s a time waster…but who knows and we shall see 
I love ya Wilks, but all of the reports from Isak’s camp are that he is set on joining Liverpool. He sat out their preseason tour and trained on his own to try to force a move, not much else he can do. He can’t come right out and say he only wants to play for Liverpool because he would lose out on some loyalty bonuses etc. he’s under contract with them for 3 more seasons, so Newcastle still hold most of the cards here

Yes we have to concentrate now on beating Spuds to Rodrygo and sign Guehi and whatever happens happens after that.

"Progress is expected on a deal for Brentford’s 28-year-old forward Yoane Wissa this week, but a younger striker is needed to replace Isak. Until Newcastle have that, he will not be sold, even though there is a growing acceptance inside the club that his sale is the best way forward for all parties.

either way, i must admit i wasnt fully onboard with this move at the begginning, less so now…
more for football reasons than the noise coming out of newcastle…
weve gone big this summer already, and still have a way to go with at least one more CB
i feel like the numbers put on Isak are a reflection of what strikers are avaliable at the moment rather than a genuine reflection of his true worth
it actually feels a bit uninspired…Ekitike really interests me, Wirtz , absolutely excites me, Rio is an intriguing wild card in all of this…
dont get me wrong, Isak is a fantastic footballer…just not sure hes worth that much, to us, in this moment…
the issue is i dont have an alternative to throw out there…
the parts about training away i can ignore to some extent as he didnt travel with the squad for valid reasons, but thats over now, time to get back to work at the club you are contracted to.
im not sure how much we owe him in terms of following this deal through after what he has done regarding making noise at his end…
theres also the small fact that the season is creeping up on us every day now…slot needs time to work with the players he intends on being the core of the starting 11…
