Alexander Isak (CF) Newcastle

Everything around this move is weird.

That’s correct

Presumably he doesn’t have a clause in the contract allowing him to do so (and lacks the funds to in any case)?

He can do so in accordance with FIFA articles.

But the issue of compensation remains contested.

That’s some stand to make. Is there more to this than anyone has heard yet, like a promise to sell.

Is he perhaps hinting at what we spoke of a few days ago, buying his remaining contract? Knowing he risks being stuck in limbo but calling Newcastles bluff.

Indykalia is having a cracking window. I still think he’s full of shit, but he is winding people up all over the place🤣

It’s possible. I’d need to double check this but it could be he can only do this on or after 26 August.

A player can unilaterally terminate without just cause under the age of 28 if they’ve served at least 3 years of their existing contract. It is also expressed as 3 full seasons in the alternative so I think it likely he can already take this course of action but without double checking it could be that he has to wait until 26th (that’s 3 years to the day since he signed, I think).

That’s without addressing the compensation point or the potential inducement factor. Minefield.

This is going to be the future of transfers.

Instead of letting transfer fees become even more ridiculously inflated than they are now, dictated by unserious clubs like Chelsea and Utd …players will just end up buying their way out of their contract and essentially conduct themselves as if they were a free agent.

“offering 120m upfront, with potential add-ons pushing the total bid to a staggering 125m”

The add on is 5m if Isak wins the golden gloves.

Mustn’t it be a written transfer request so there can be no confusion on whether there is a transfer request submitted???

If he and his agent told them last season was to be his last at Newcastle and Newcastle agreed then reneged, then he has every right to go on strike.

Its increasingly unclear what N/Castle’s position is here, as it seems there are divisions internally…

It never works out well for anyone to keep an unhappy player..
You’ll think that much would be clear to everyone.

Anyone been to the N/Castle forums lately? Just wondering how tasty it must be out there…

Yes.

They’re loving life over there, majority have already forgotten about Isak and they’re just happy they’re finally on the verge of signing their 14th choice forward in Nicolas Jackson.

I’ve been following a few Newcastle fan groups and they are nearly at acceptance.
