He’s trying to force the issue. I cannot imagine a scenario where this window ends with him in the prison stripes, but stranger things have happened.
Nah fair enough I don’t follow so I went to check.
, this livens things up.![]()

Trying to see it from an NUFC point of view, it doesn’t change much, other than being the absolute final nail in the coffin of any hopes he might stay.
They still need a replacement and there’s slim pickings on the market.
Richard Hughes just sitting there twiddling his thumbs waiting for a call from Yasir Al-Rumayyan indicating that they’re ready to engage.
Believe me, I checked it multiple times to be absolutely sure before posting this.
Legitimate answer.
Edit, next time I’ll add it every time if it makes you feel better.
Well, that is the transfer request we’ve been waiting for. Time to slap in a bid and get it done before the window slams shut.
This was the post that changed history. No doubt Isak saw it and decided to force the issue. Good work sgs!
do you know if FSG have to loosen the purse strings, or is there enough in the war chest to sanction a deal?
maybe Hughes should make a mad dash to Boston for direct talks on the matter
Or maybe they can just chat on teams or zoom.
I really do find it odd that football seems to be the only business that hasn’t reached the 21st century with technology if you believe journos mind.
Like everything up til now was fine.

I know there’s been lots of talk about the Geordies needing a replacement before selling Isak, but at this point, can they even risk bringing him back under any scenario? There will be a whole lot of toxicity.
At least he had the good sense to remove the headers and footers of
"Hi Alex,
This is what we want you to post on your Instagram account:
…statement…
Cheers,
Dick and Mike"
I made this point couple of days ago too.
Well, Isak’s statement certainly warms things up!
I would imagine everyone at Newcastle is just about over it right now, and wants to negotiate the fee and part company. Eddie Howe has a season to get on with. They all do. They need to sign a couple of players, say Wissa and Jackson, and get this chapter closed.
However…
What does Isak’s statement do to the owners? Does it make them double down on keeping the player, because they can? Culturally speaking, they may see Isak’s statement as such an affront that they make some sort of example of him, even if it is detrimental.
I see two Newcastle’s here. The club, fans, manager, players, etc. are one Newcastle. If they prevail, a deal will be done, even if the whole thing clearly boils their piss.
The other Newcastle is the owner. What will they do? At that point I’m more uncertain. When dealing with a rich and powerful nation state the usual rules of business, which would see Isak sold, may not apply.
