Alisson BECKER: 2020/21

I would have preferred if he’d had Covid-19 that would have spared him the rehab period

I’d give him another week or two off. Sneaky suspicion he has been rushed back in previous injuries. Feel as confident in Kelleher as I do in Alisson and that’s saying something.

What’s the latest on Alisson? Is he playing against Fulham?

He’s been transfer listed. Too injury prone.

And we’ve got Caoimhin now.

OMG!!! Really!!! :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

But surely we need a backup keeper

No need to rush him back. The youngster is doing a great job.
If it were Adrian replacing him…totally different!

I think this is Alissons main strength - I don’t think he has ever pulled off what people call a spectacular save (maybe Napoli aside) in all his time here - because his positioning is so good he doesn’t have to.

You watch other keepers they dive as they have got position all wrong. Alisson just catches what most tip over or palm wide and then sets up a counter attack.

One thing I noticed with Kelleher was he has more ground to make than Alison but is more agile so can get to it, Becker seems to already be there to get it.

I’m with you I think I’d make sure he is fit and ready for Spurs.

Although it was chalked-off eventually, it was alarming how easily he was beaten by Son. Alisson has conceded some soft goals and made some nervy blunders recently.

The last time he was beaten by Son was from a similar position and Son put it far post, so it is only right to think that Becker over compensated

One on ones are hardly soft goals and the pen against Burnley was hardly his fault in the conceding of it. Would be nice to make saves but while we have not been conceding that many chances in comparison to the chances we create the ones we have been conceding are almost invariably clear cut ones where you’d expect the player to score rather than the keeper to save.

The only one he could have done better for was the freekick against United with the little step to the right but even so, that was a brilliant take and basically went in right at the post and there is no guarantee he could have gotten there anyway such was the placement and pace behind it. Really think you’re being too harsh in that assessment.

It’s all TAA’s fault. Now TAA is back in form there are no worries (Except the central defense problem however they’ve been doing good).

To be fair the Spurs one was excellent in the second, his reaction to the offside one was a bit poor mind. He can have an off day.

I was back on it for the US elections, the “hot takes” that night should have been enough warning.

You only deleted it because you forgot your password!

On Alisson he does seem to get niggles/illnesses… Hope its not COV19 as thats a few weeks out?

Rather an illness than an odd none serious strain that keeps him out for 2 months.

Probably the shits.
