I agree Zoran. I think he is a great keeper, albeit has been quite a bit below his best this season, but I don’t think he is as good on the ball as, for instance, Qweveen. The second mistake in particular was very, very poor and coming so soon after the first was Lorisesque unfortunately.
I do wonder if his illness may be somewhat a mitigation - I thought it was strange that Klopp didn’t go with this when given an opportunity to give a reason for why it may have happened. While it may have reflected badly on Adrian (ie couldn’t get a game even when the other two keepers shouldnt be playing) it may help Alison (if he needs any help) to bounce back immediately.
I have always been for hoofing the ball a long way out into touch once in a while as it allows the time to reorganise and have a little breather. Old fashioned, I say no, it’s common sense at times. Not something we wish to see all the time just a way of relieving pressure when necessary. Why insist on stressing yourselves out more and more when the rules allow you to relieve that stress?
Need to look at the graph.
Hes still a great goalkeeper but he hasn’t reached the levels of previous 2 seasons. Maybe he is fatigued as well as not had much time off since he got here.
He had a bad day yesterday - happens to us all.
Think he was still in the mindset of panicking over his first mistake when the ball came to him again for the second. Is he being told to play it out constantly even when theirs not much on in terms of options. Should have booted everything for the 5/10 minutes after his first mistake to clear his head and build more confidence
@FGred I think said he had the squiters. Perhaps he just didn’t feel comfortable or well. Perhaps he shouldn’t have played but we all know the panic Adrian would have created amonst our very sensitive players let alone us fans.
More bored than fatigued I would imagine.
Not great on the ball though, right?
He’s so fat that when the balls at his feet he can no longer see it.
Yep despite a poor run of form in a team that’s really struggling and a terrible individual game it’s worth remembering that he is both;
A; The keeper most likely to make a save in the league.
B; The keeper with the best accuracy in the league.
Be careful what you wish for. If you can’t accept that even the best have bad days you’ll inevitably end up with worse on your quest for unattainable perfection. Same applies to other players such as Salah and our manager too in Klopp.
The last time they made something similar was on Alberto Moreno.
Last big blunder he made was against Leicester I think when he just arrived. Went on a fine run of brilliance after. Hopefully that was his second kick up the ass and now he will be back to his best
Some sleepy reactions, today a wild reaction.
What was he thinking there? Too wild. I’m all for a modern GK, but there will always be a certain point between modern GK shit and pure stupid decision shit, modern or from the age of dinosaurs.
Probably thought “I can’t shrink into my own shell after the City game”.
Kabak was still in a good enough situation maybe not to clear it first time as smoothly as possible, but make contact with the ball for sure, probably clearing it with his second or third touch. Ali really doesn’t have to rush like a maniac like that, attack a central ball, leave his goal wide open and then he made a collission with his player. He didn’t even let Kabak or the team to try and deal with that first. Too risky.
The most amazing detail was a few minutes after that, he receives a backpass with a keepy uppy attempt?! Then realizes in the same second that it’s again really not the time to do these stupidities.
Find that balance again, Ali.
The second goal for Leicester was simply a case of Kabak being new and not used to our playing style with a sweeper keeper.
I would blame Alison only if he did not shout that he was coming for it (like in baseball/cricket when catching a ball with two players runnning under it).
The double save Alsion made was class. The whole team on a low, but they can all come out of it.
For Adrian? Kelleher isn’t available.
He’s broken.
It took longer than the other keepers but I think he’s broken
What has actually happened to Kelleher anyone know?
Apart from that fuckup with Ozan he was good today and made a couple of good saves.
A knock in training.
