But Ali can still rock out his leather kit

Thank fuck for that. I’ll tell Mrs Mascot we’re staying in tonight. Not that we ever go anywhere.
I think his form has been OK. He hasn’t hit the heights as regularly as last season, but the biggest thing is the chopping and changing in front of him.
The shot for the third goal was hit early and through the legs of the defender. It’s too simple to say he saves that last year. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn’t.
What I am more confident in saying is that last year’s defence doesn’t give up such an easy shot.
The whole team has been sub par this season. Lots of mitigating factors, which we all know about. Alisson, for his part, could have been a bit better, and so could most if not all of them. I’m not worried about him as we move forward.
As for this season, let’s try to see what we can get out of it. CL up against it now, but we have come back from worse. Still, a tough assignment with the group we have available. As for the league, there’s some hope for top four so we should hopefully give it a go and try, somehow, to get over that line.
Fact of the matter is too many injuries. Those who haven’t been injured haven’t performed.
After the fuck up on Saturday I loved how he came out at Vini Jr (sorry partner has the same name and I shorten that).
The dive at the feet on the follow up also deserves credit.
Excellent game and easily our MoTM tonight. Made six saves, the most he has ever made in a single Premier League game while keeping a clean sheet. Did scare us with his passing on a couple of occasions, but didn’t matter thankfully in the end.
He was good. So good. Almost had an assists too.
I wonder if people would have been so effusive in their praise if Adams hadn’t shat the bed when Ali played it straight to him?

Life of a keeper sadly.
Wow that was brilliant 6 shots on target and 6 saves from Mr Becker.
Regardless of one bad kick (which he made up for) he was quite obviously the best player on the pitch.
Well done man I have doubted you this season but that was 10/10.
Yeah was a poor kick but as a goalie you have those.
He redeemed himself in spades and even on that chance, without him Soton would have had a couple more of those one and ones easily.
Looked a bit more trim to me too. Never fat, at all, but definitely a big unit. Anyway, just looked leaner, and sharper, all round.
He has got a slight over hang (those keeper shirts I can talk mind after lockdown). His beard and hair are smarter so I think it’s that which has made him look heavier.
He is certainly better at one or ones and off his line yesterday, though he has generally been improving for a few weeks now since that mistake against Madrid.
Yes, Alisson played well, but it’s a concern when your goalkeeper is MotM at home to Southampton!
It is if you lose the game… We were missing another 2 you’d expect to start last night that’s added to 3 you’d expect to start
If we had lost or drawn that then Fraser Forster probably gets it. That’s pretty much the game. Sometimes you need to rely on your keeper sometimes your forwards can remove doubt.
