Alisson BECKER: 2020/21

Said that myself. He’s a big man but looked a tad leaner like he did last season. Felt he looked a little heavy (obviously not overweight but seemed a tad slower than usual) was quick tonight. Hopefully will keep it up and he can rest for the summer and mourn his father easier

He got involved with corners, not staying on his line. Nobody can beat a strong goalkeeper using his fists.

Remember who we had a central defence slow and slower.

Rhys Williams baffles me.

Somebody his age and his height so eat the fucking ground up before him.

His wife gave birth to his third child today

Aww, what a cute little boy. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: So, we are covered for substitute goal keepers for the next 2 decades.

It’s a nice bit of news for the guy after the last few months.

Hopefully it will give him a boost for the week.

He believes in “It’s the hope that kills” … for the opposition

He’s brilliant. He was just giving them a bit of toffee before we whacked four past them.

It’s almost one per game ratio right now.

:joy:

Owes half the fanbase a new pair of pants the bastard.

HIs passing has always been over-rated. Great keeper when he’s doing the goalkeeping stuff but a liability with the ball at his feet, especially this season. Every game now he’s giving it away. So sloppy and he’s fortunate he’s not been punished for it more often.

Erm, I really don’t know what keeper you are watching. Alisson is brilliant with the ball at his feet. He’s had wobbles, but he is playing in front of a makeshift back four most weeks. In his interview with TAW Klopp didn’t specifically mention Alisson, but did say a lot of the errors and poor performances were down to the unfamiliarity of a changing system, and the system keeps changing because we are having to adjust to missing personnel.

He always seemed reluctant to boot it and I thought Man United’s staff made Cavani aware of that, who, at 34 years of age, seemed absolutely relentless and tireless in pressing and his teammates seemed to follow for the first half hour. I actually sent a message to my mates’ Viber group and asked when was the last time they saw Man United press like that. To combat that, you really need to have a settled defence and capable midfielders - you could see that an error was about to happen when Alisson received that ball, looked up and realised that his players weren’t where he expected them to be.

I’m not absolving him of guilt, it was his error by all means, like the one against Southampton, but I’m more than willing to cut him some slack with everything he’s been going through and with all the changes team has been going through. I hope it’s an anomaly rather than norm.

It’s become the norm this season. Changes to personnel or not, it doesn’t excuse him just passing it directly to the opposition. Happened so many times this season. His drop-kicking is excellent but when he’s passing it round the box I age a year and I really can’t afford that.

He fucking was a whisker away from setting Cavani on a plate last night
