Andrew Robertson (LB) to Atletico Madrid

Why have you posted the doper on this one?

I’d rather we had Kerkez sewn up before any move like this.
If Robbo wants the move, I don’t think the club should stand in his way. He’s earned the right to choose how he wants the rest of his career to go.

I think we need to extract the best price for us, not let players leave if the price/circumstances aren’t right. Robbo can have his move; Atletico just have to pay our price first.

Of course, I meant more in the sense of rejecting any bids.

It feels like Arne really is stamping his authority on the squad

It has to be done.

Father time and all.

Wrong flavour of celt…

Yeah I’m all for squad turnover, feel if anything we were a little reluctant to do so under Klopp (until the Hendo Saudi fiasco)

I did say in the earlier post where @Flobs took a pisstake.

Logically , we’d be better off with Tsimikas and Kerkez as our LBs rather than Robbo and Kerkez as our LBs

It’s no disrespect to Robbo. He’s been the quintessential Liverpool Hire. But times do have to come to an end.

How? Robertson had his worst season and he was still starting ahead of Tsimikas.

Regardless of what business gets done this summer, I think the squad would be better with him in it so I’ll be gutted if he goes.

That’s more to do with Slot wanting to play him. The minutes both of them played , Tsimikas was a better option.

Neither are good enough for a first choice LB but that’s more a remark on how Robbo has declined.

And as mentioned before. Robbo’s relied on his pace to cover up his deficiencies in technique. That’s what stopped him from transitioning into the backup LCB. I really wanted that to happen. But it just didn’t.

Must admit I am surprised at this one, as I thought Tsimikas would definitely be the one to depart, and we’d keep Robertson around for the leadership qualities, and he’d just leave on a free next summer.

Slot was starting Robertson ahead of Tsimikas too. Not sure I see a world where both depart, unless we plan to use someone in our youth ranks as back-up to Kerkez (if he signs).

Hard disagree on that one.

Maybe Tsimikas has shown he’s happy to be the understudy, maybe no one is interested in signing him?

If it was the emotions speaking, I would have Robbo in.

But this is Edwards’s Liverpool.

I do think Tsimikas will depart next summer then, as his contract expires in 2027. No issues with both Robertson and Tsimikas leaving in the next couple of windows, as Robertson is declining, and Tsimikas will be 30 next summer too, so on the way down.

Both seem top lads to have around the place, but yep, it does seem like we’re going to get tougher on who stays and who goes, which will be a very good thing.

I’d have him in regardless.

In truth I’m a bit sick of Tsimikas. All he really offers is a cross, and I don’t see anything that gets him above Robbo.

It’s a speed thing. Even with his decline Robbo is still a lot quicker than Kostas. Not just physically, but in thought. With Kostas it’s all just a bit laboured and predictable.
