No chance we’re selling Robbo. He’ll be allowed to see out his contract and get a nice pay day somewhere after that. Will be good to have him in the dressing room after the ‘big summer’ that’s being talked about
Tsimikas has been a really good back-up, but even now with Robertson declining, he isn’t getting ahead of him, not to mention that he’s also struggled.
Robertson should be the one to stay and split time with the new arrival, especially if we go for someone young and relatively inexperienced. The competition will help both of them and having Robertson around can only have a beneficial effect for the new LB.
Tsimikas is ahead of Robbo at this point. However , the point still remains that we still need a first choice LB.
A lot of technically good LBs can make a jump to being a left sided CB particularly later in their careers. But I doubt that it will be the case for Robbo. Even as a backup CB. Robbo isn’t someone who’s well “rounded” as Zoran puts it. He relied on his pace and his acceleration to get him out of trouble in defensive situations. And he’s probably lost a fair bit of those attributes.
Maybe , Slot’s team can work with him for the next season and use him as someone who could only play about 20 matches(across all competitions) and split the rest between Tsimikas and Kerkez.(hopefully). 3 LBs might be a luxury but it’s for one season only.
Moving Tsimikas out at this point is a mistake. We would need him for one more season as the new LB gets upto scratcy. But letting Robbo move out doesn’t sit right with me either. Hopefully, lesser matches for Robbo and we can see him perform better in those limited game time rather than stretching him too long and getting to this issue.
Regardless of Robbo’s drop off/form, I’d still want him retained over Tsimikas.
He’s part of the leadership group, you know he won’t be a stroppy child and will understand his role, and hopefully adapt to the game, in a similar way Mo and Virgil have had to as they’ve seen drop off’s in pace etc.
With less demand in his legs (assuming we bring in a new, starting, LB), he will likely have less mistakes in him.
So yeah, pretty much not what you guys are saying!
Marks out of ten:
2023/4 - Robbo 8 Tsimikas 7
2024/5 - Robbo 7 Tsimikas 7
2025/6 - Robbo 6 Tsimikas 7*
- projected on current trajectory
…and Man Utd want to bring in the head data boffin from Mercedes… while us lucky LFC fans have this meticulous level of analysis free of charge on a fan forum.
Who said it was free? That kind of detailed analytical work comes at a cost. It’s the result of years of study and meticulous attention to detail.
You need to change your passwords.
My mate told me that instead of Password1, you can use Passw0rd1 with a zero instead of o.
Apparently, some people use P455w0rd1, but that seems a bit crazy to me.
Top secret stuff.
Just watching Robbo on MOTD and it sounded like he might have been saying goodbye.
Best to let their legs go elsewhere, as a wise man once said.
Sad but true..
For those who want a “huge summer”, there have to be costs somewhere…
If Robbo’s leaving, I expect the club to fly flags at half-mast and every scouser to cry into their chippy.
If he’s leaving, we need to keep Doak. Otherwise we’d be tempting fate…
So we now need 2 new young Lbs,who are going to be as good or better than the 2 old Lbs we currently have?
Everyone appears to think that Tsimikas is off, but I’m not so sure. He appears to be happy as a backup here; I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Robbo out and Kerkez in.
All the talk has been and still is of Tsimikas, but you’re probably right. I’d prefer Robbo to stay, still think he’s of better use to us than Tsimikas but 1 one them has to go, not both.
Tierney gone back to Celtic, can see Robbo joining him for a final swansong.
Emotions aside , I’d prefer Tsimikas to stay and Robbo to leave considering the decline from Robbo. Tsimikas to start the initial few matches while Kerkez gets upto speed is more ideal than Robbo starting them.
But that said , I do expect it to be the other way round.
