Andy ROBERTSON: 2025/26

Kerkez is nothing like Moreno!

Kerkez has some moves that infuriate me (I mean, tying his hands behind his back, Agger-style, when defending crosses) but he’s settling in nicely. Bundles of pace and energy, good in one-on-ones and decent crossing ability - I imagine he will be even better when he has a coach that won’t require him and his counterpart on the right to underlap instead of playing the natural fullback game.

That said, I don’t think we’ll ever see Liverpool having another Robertson or Trent in their pomp. Yes, the tactical setup enabled them to contribute massively in terms of attacking game but they were as complete fullbacks as possible in the modern game. I know I’ll be guilty of comparing every Liverpool player to their predecessors who played their best football under Klopp but I’m fully aware it’s a wrong thing to do. It won’t stop me from comparing every system we play to the one Klopp played, haha!

Wow…would’ve thought year by year…but if he wants more games…get him to do his ā€˜papers’…and get him on the staff…

Problem with him when he was asked to do MORE, he said NO

Sometimes wonder whether some boardrooms know what football is.
Sure Robbo knows his limitations maybe game wise, but there is the dressing room too, which is bloody important, with Mo and Robbo going,VVD and Alisson not far away, leadership is starting to look a tad thin, not every player is a leader, but you have to have them,a manager screaming from the sidelines isn’t heard,a leader with a Word or two covers that.

Go back to art, @gasband :joy:.

I think @Limiescouse covered this well and how that dynamic can change to being a potentially negative influence when a player is no longer a regular starter.

Andy might be best holding on a bit there.

Apparently it’s reliant on them staying up.

Sensible to be fair.

If Spurs go down there is going to be an exodus from that club. Most of them are playing like they don’t give a shit and are looking forward to moving on in the summer. Stay clear Andy!

I thought he might end up going back to Celtic.

I think he feels (and understandably, I agree) he can easily fit in another ā€˜serious’ move somewhere (both footballing wise and financially) before maybe joining Celtic more towards the end. The level up there has dropped on many levels.

Celtic already have fans favourite Tierney at LB, plus he will be on a good wage.

Hope robbo ends up in italy or spain,
Away to enjoy the weather, food and culture, in the last stages if his career

Marseille says hello .

It’s not a serious club.

(After saying this, I’ve probably been cancelled forever from the city)

In what way do you think it’s not a serious club?

Decent weather and some decent food. Quite a character and atmosphere.
Football wise a chance of CL foot, remember we played them this season. My son enjoys going to the occasional match, grandson likes singing their songs …

Yeah I’m not talking about that.

The supporters, while passionate seems to easily go overboard and behave like thugs. Then there’s the whole Greenwood saga, and the ownership saga of the past years come to mind. (But maybe that’s not an issue anymore, I’m probably out of date)

It feels to me Robbo could aim for better, but when comparing to Tottenham, it doesn’t seem that bad anymore.

There’s always problems at Marseille it’s part and parcel of the club.
The supporters aren’t horrendous, nowhere near as bad as is made out on here. I just don’t understand where that impression comes from. Probably a lack of understanding? It’s not like other clubs supporters don’t do things now is it?
Most of what the supporters do is quite amusing these days.

I do think Spurs may drop so it will be interesting to see what he does if they do.
