Liverpool’s new group of U8s enjoyed a landmark day at Anfield recently when they signed their first contracts with the club.
With Jayden Danns and Michael Laffey, two players who have risen through the Academy ranks, watching on, the youngsters put pen to paper during a special event at the Reds’ iconic stadium
That’s so young, but a big adventure for them. I wonder if we will see any of them in 10 years time?

Hard to believe that’s as late as 1967. I went to my first game in 1974 and the changes to the ground in between are massive.
The new Main Stand and paddock had replaced the old one, the reception area and ticket office had been added to it and the car park had been updated from that strange piece of wasteland in the picture.
The floodlight pylons in each corner had gone and I’m not sure if that is the same roof on the Kemlyn where the new floodlights were situated?
That staircase leading down from the Kop looks lethal, does anyone know what year that was replaced?
The external staircase outside the Kop at Anfield was removed during the summer of 1976. This was part of a £300,000 facelift at the rear of the terrace. The work involved replacing the exterior stairwell and adding a new rear.
