I remember him saying he missed training Thursday but hoped to train on Friday.
That is not a given as we did lose to PSV the last time we met them in the UCL!

Klopp announced that he was going in January 2024, having told the club in November 2023 of his decision.
He later said that he knew that he couldn’t go on in the summer of 2023 when his staff and the club were discussing logistics and plans for the 24/25 season.
So he literally put together the team that Slot inherited knowing he was going to step down. He rebuilt that midfield knowing that he was doing so to hand it over to someone else.
It’s a measure of the class Klopp has to make sure his successor had a great chance to compete. And it’s a measure of Slot’s class to acknowledge that inheritance and the debt to Klopp, even while celebrating winning the title.

Yes, that was pre-match.
And then post-match last night, he said he didn’t train. So I guess he didn’t manage to train on Friday and they judged it’s better not to start him (if you start him you hope a player gives you at least an hour or so).
He will get minutes and starts for sure, because we have many games coming up and not many fit defenders.

At the end of the day, it’s all just noise.
FSG will do what FSG wanna do. They will no doubt have a plan, they’re far from idiots, and all the squealing in the world from us won’t make one jot of difference.
If they think a change is required to protect their incredibly valuable investment, they’ll make it.
If they understood that this year could go tits up because of all the change, they’ll probably wait far longer to change things than 90% of the fans would want them to.
Whatever FSG decide, I’ll go along with. Whilst some are arguing Slot doesn’t deserve time, you simply cannot say that FSG haven’t earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to acting in the best long-term interests of the LFC.

I’ll go from the known to the unknown.
We know that the level of investment in the squad, as champions was based on long term strategy.
I’ll like to think that this long term thinking included Slot as manager. But things change and strategies are adjusted and readjusted.
We also know that the club expected the changes to lead to some disruption.
The unexpected is the level of this…
What we don’t know is what’s led to the current malaise. But it appears clearly that its not one thing…
My sense is that we’ll all have to go through this, whatever it is, holding our noses until we come out of it.
The squad is too good and the manager too smart not to…
My sense is that there’ll be a trigger. Maybe it’s the CL. Maybe it’s a fightback or a tackle…
I certainly hope so..
Maybe Arne will have his Mark Robins moment and all will be well again followed by total domination for the next 10 years…
It will then be known ever after as the Joe Gomez moment.

Measuring the head coach based on players he improved? Yes. Not all players of course but those with potential like Bradley, Gakpo, MacAllister, J
I don’t understand this either. Joe is a quality player. People seem to remember a couple of poor games and forget the many where he was great. Konate has more poor games in the last couple of months than Gomez has in his Liverpool career

I am like others see players that I feel aren’t good enough or are too old or don’t suit the style, but I always want them to prove me wrong and not right.
I want every player, manager or coach to be successful, I expect before every game that we will win and play well.
However, it seems a lot on here seem to bathe in us not playing well, this or that player being poor, the coach failing, not spending too much, spending too much not enough players in , too many players in.
They just want to be proved right or are just miserable.
