If I remember correctly, weren’t they already relegated when he stepped in?
They were 3rd from bottom, 2 points behind Blackburn for survival with 8 games left. They ended up 7 points behind Blackburn, but two other sides had been as crap or worse so they just missed survival. Every time he blasts a manager it is worth noting that he got 5 points in 8 games, which makes his tenure the worst segment of that season - which did save Sunderland, to be fair.

He is the biggest hypocrite going when the Newcastle CH headbutted his opponent and got sent off he thought the reaction of the players was pathetic but you remember his comment after Nunez got sent off for just facing off with his opponent , very different he thought Nunez deserved to be sent off.
