It feels like communication has broken down between Slot and the players and he’s on the verge of losing the changing room.
FSG must be aware of this situation, but the lack of suitable candidates leaves them hamstrung. It’s a very perilous situation for the club and a worrying time for us fans.
I think we may have seen more after the Salah situation if that was the case.
I would say there might be a split or disagreement between certain players. I assume if this is the issue it’s more solveable than many others it could be. No doubt Hughes will have had knocks at his door.
This is what the situation looks like to me, the way the players look at times it is a distinct possibility.
If a Manager loses the dressing room he is usually toast, dunno how he would get it back.
Any logical replacement talk should surely include Xabi, should he become available ,it would be a no brainer, both sides of the fence.
So what happens if Xabi comes in and the players aren’t happy with him?
Really don’t want the ‘tail to wag the dog’
Once players gain power it is a slippery slope, just look at Manure
What, who holds the player power at United, against Amorim?
How many managers have they been through lately!
I don’t think we should look for Klopp Mk.II. If Slot were to be sacked, we would need someone who knows what he is doing and who has a record of success. Tuchel fits the bill whether or not some people dislike him.
I don’t see any evidence of Tuchel causing any friction in the England set-up. Anyway, it’s all hypothetical.
it would be a major issue, but you cant hold a manager in the job ‘just incase the players get to much power if the next one fails’
IF that certain set of circumstances occured that you are aluding to, then youd have to deal with that situation there and then.
we cant be paralised from making decisions based on whether we end up making a bad decision, if you know what i mean.
The players that come out in the press or leaks need to be dealt with.
If there are issues it needs to be kept in house, surely if players have concerns there are avenues to go through before coming to the press, if not then that is an issue with systems within the club.
Just look at our second half performances recently. What other explanation could there be for them coming back onto the pitch looking even more demoralised than when they trudged off ?
I do wonder if his messages are always negative, worrying too much about our failings and forgetting the positives of what made us champions.
I’ve said it several times, repeating the same m3ssage regarding set pieces etc. can become a self fulfilling prophecy
It’s a totally different environment to club football though, where i think he has had fallings out at virtually every club, bar perhaps his first one, Mainz,
I dont think that is a case of players pushing for change - other than perhaps in Ragnick’s?.
That’s a huge leap.
There is probably always some unhappiness in squads (look at Yorke and Sheringham at Utd for example). It just gets more attention when teams perform poorly and it wouldnt be unsurprising if it has a bigger negative impact in that situation.
We’ve all watched a lot of football and we’ve seen teams where the communication between the coach and the players has broken down. We look like those teams at the moment. The Salah and Mac Allister quotes are unlikely to be isolated.
I understand the wish to stay positive and support the team through thick and thin, but that doesn’t mean we have to ignore the signs of a team which is struggling.
We can acknowledge the team’s struggles, but we don’t need to put two and two together and make eight.
‘It feels like’ - that’s my feeling about the situation based on what I see, read and hear.
I hope I’m wrong.
Again I think if we had a visible philosophy here then we could accept growing pains but the signings and the playing style, such that there is one, don’t seem to be aligned currently.
We signed Kerkez, Frimpong, Wirtz and Ekitike - all of them had incredibly good stats in pressing. Now we don’t press anymore.
It feels like we had a transfer window for a Klopp-style side and, Slot isn’t pursuing that style on current evidence.
Anyway I think Slot is on borrowed time. We are just waiting for someone else to become available.
It seems like we started todays game trying to press, but with only our front 2 doing the work and no back up, which resulted in them playing through us too easily.
Wirtz has to run round like a donkey for no reward, which is soul destroying.
Otherwise spot on.
