Arne Slot - Head Coach

Never mind

Just treading water at this point, barely. Going nowhere, not looking like getting anywhere. We’ll have to win the Champions League to be in it next year if this continues. Thank him for his service and move on. Give Alonso the rest of this season to bed in early. Honestly don’t see the point in waiting. The players will know he’s a dead man walking and expecting them to up their game with that hanging over their heads is a fool’s errand.

The parody has gone on long enough. You had it out with Mascot, fair enough so have I but grow up ffs.

All I’m saying is you can’t fault Arne for today, that one’s on the team. They ruined his 13 game unbeaten run.

Didn’t have his 2nd choice CB available, 3rd choice CB went off injured after 20mins…it’s not easy down on the south coast on a wet, windy Saturday evening.

Wannabe coaches and kids who played too much Football Manager.

That’s fine, but this isn’t about me. It’s about the team letting the manager down today so I’m going to come to his defence when people are rushing to push the knife in.

It would but not if you don’t replace the guy in charge as well.

You seem like you’re on a mission to get blocked by everyone.

Games like Frankfurt, Real Madrid, Inter, Marseille, are just one-off games. Today’s game is the norm for us. Individual mistakes are happening so often, I think they’re the result of the quality of coaching during the week.

But we keep doing this to ourselves. Play well in one game, tell ourselves, ‘we just need to do it more often, maybe this is the start of turning things around’ and then chuck it away the following game.

I bet we beat Qarabag convincingly, and we’ll be back to the ‘just do it more often,’ and then drop points to Newcastle. The cycle will rinse and repeat.

It’s almost Feb and we still haven’t won a game in the league in 2026

It’s a great point. Just because there’s the odd good result, the majority is a clown show and will be until we pull the plug.

A good manager has his team winning those games and being solid and consistent in the others.

I don’t like many things we can see right now, but I’m still loathe to put the knife into the manager. We were really exerting good control over the game before VVD and the 1-0. Alli whacks down Gomez, we are with ten men and concede a second right away. The game plan flies out of the window… The lads still fight on and despite being far from spectacular, find a way back into the game and score two good goals. The second half should have brought us more goals, but our forward players were inefficient to say the least. And at the last second, Alli fumbles a ball and it’s the third for Bournemouth.

When it rains, it pours, they say. Gomez is surely out for a few weeks again, and Konaté can’t come back quickly enough. Meanwhile, Edwards and Hughes are nowhere to be seen, don’t reinforce our depleted backline, and let their manager hang out to dry. For me, this is cowardice at this point.

Many things are wrong at the club at the minute. This isn’t all on Slot. If someone is brought in at short notice to replace him, he’ll have the same problems. It’s better to stick with him and to see how it goes until May. Then, if things are still as bad, pull the plug and bring in someone who can revitalize these players and initiate a new start. But I’ll say it again: if I was the owner, I’d have a close look at Edwards’ and Hughes’ roles in this mess as well.

Blocked him months ago but still get everyone’s posts replying to the ‘hidden content’

I’'ve got 2 16yo CBs in my 4th tier Mongolian save who have seen me concede 3 goals in 12 league games that would be better than what our defense has served up this season.

We shouldn’t be celebrating a 13 game unbeaten run if half/almost half of those are draws. A midtable team celebrates that.

I’ve said the same thing after so many games this season to defend Slot. But it can’t just be bad luck or individual mistakes.

I like the guy. Gave me brilliant memories in winning the league. I think he generally speaks well and led the club well through the summer tragedies.

But I think a change might be good for everyone. Draw a line in the sand. Fresh energy and ideas

It’ll be fascinating to see what happens with Edwards & Hughes, especially as their contracts expire in 2027. Edwards has been back for almost 2 years, and there’s no sign of this second club being added to FSG’s portfolio yet, which was supposed to have been one of the main reasons why he came back. I think Hughes is likely to be having a squeaky bum though, as Edwards took over Mike Gordon’s role, and I can’t see Gordon wanting to be that involved again.

Not celebrating it, but it was a foundation to build on after losing 6 in 8. Now we’re back to being 1 step forward 2 steps back all because we panicked on a long throw.

When you’re in a slog for CL places like we are, you take every point you can get.

Anyhow there’s too much negativity surrounding Arne which I don’t think is fair, we shouldn’t lose sight of how light the squad is and how many games we’re having to play. There’s still a lot to play for.

Had we have held on today It would’ve still meant 10 of our last 15 points being dropped, And that in a not particularly tough run of games.
