Arne Slot - Head Coach

if only AI could be used to shore up out defence…

I don’t think those new solar panels at the top of the new Anfield Road stand would be enough to power the AI.

Hopefully it’s a step up from some of the AI around, then again anything that’s an upgrade in technology seems to get the AI tag now.

It’s a pisstake of the term “AI”. It’s literally just “anything I don’t understand about maths/algorithms” = AI.

“Journalists” are some of the most uninformed idiots around, literally the blind leading the blind.

AI isn’t Alexander Isak?

I like the lad doing the interviewing. Nice short questions and no attempts to provoke or score points.

4 losses on the bounce. No personnel changes, no tactical changes, no man motivational skills.

Defensively a shambles all season, football since Feb has been some of the worst I’ve seen in over a decade.

It’s time questions were asked & no I don’t care how uncomfortable that may be for some.

Not sure what Slot is trying to achieve here. The main issue is the starting XI - or the lack of strongest one. His approach in the last three league losses was virtually the same - after playing a stinker in the first half, throw on another striker, play with two attack-minded midfielders and four forwards, hope that Salah will revert to the version from the first half of the last season, score somehow and then concede due to another stupidly conceded possession because they team doesn’t have balance or self-confidence anymore.

2013/14 was legendary in terms of how we would concede after doing something silly at the back but this one is already rivaling it. You just know the opponent will have a very decent chance if they manage to pressure our lads into conceding throw-in or a corner, let alone if they take the live ball.

I fear this is going to get so much worse before it gets better.

I have some serious concerns about him already. It’s not even the results and performances, not solely anyway, but he’s starting to behave erratically.

If he was an opposition manager I’d be calling him desperate.

He’s not inspiring any confidence that he can turn this slump around. He doesn’t appear to be a man in control.

Yeah, definitely. You don’t go for broke in three games in a row when you’re losing 1:0. He did it twice in the whole last season, I think, at home against Brighton and Fulham but if that’s become his go-to strategy now, we’re in for a world of hurt. Especially if you take into account the pressure he and players are going to face after last summer’s transfer splurge.

Glasner ending up in the away dugout might not be the forgone conclusion people think it is.

There were some interesting calls to make today. It’s not black and white, but personally I would’ve went with Ekitike ahead of Isak today. Long term I still have full confidence in him, but right now he’s really struggling to find the winning formula. We need a few short term fixes and quick, because there is no training time for another mini pre-season or whatever. Losing 4 in a row is no joke.

When I was saying last season that I wasn’t fully convinced by Slot this is what I was talking about.

Players’ faults aside, and let’s be clear they have a lot to answer for, it is Slot’s failures that are the primary concern. Every opponent is better organised and setup.
The players don’t seem to know when to push and when to hold, and he really needs to take a good look at wtf is happening with set pieces. More importantly, he needs to start playing his in-form players. No more Isak and Salah in this state. Chiesa has to play more. Ekitike can’t start on the bench. Robertson also seems like a better option.

Slot needs to find answers quickly. Otherwise, it won’t be long before the whole thing spirals out of control.

Yeah agreed with the inform players.

Salah and Isak have shown nothing on why they should play, Maca needs a break frankly start from there and you can tinker with the rest.

I’d be really curious what our data team has to say about our performances. When Ian Graham was at the club, and Klopp joined, he said to him that the data showed Dortmund’s last season under Klopp was better than the league table showed, and there were other factors involved in the horrendous form up to Christmas.

We’re all watching with our eyes, and have concerns, but I also wonder if the data is showing anything really alarming about our play that warrants further consideration.

A the new players will have been evaluated with that data. The only one that was not planned was Ekitiké, and he seems to have been the best so far.

If you look at all of our games so far, they have all been won or lost on very fine margins.

Robbo is physically done at the top level…Tsimikas on the other hand is still ok…

Can you please share the data that shows this..

I may not have the data but remember the last match against the Chavs where a scrawny brazilian kid wearing blue manages to hold off Robbo( or rather Robbo had no awareness of his man is) and nip in behind Robbo to score??

Not the first time that sort of stuff happened in this season…
