Well said Don Lemon. I run into people here in Indiana who say Musk is a breath of fresh air for free speech, but this is a clear signal that he is not. He helps to amplify hate speech and conspiracy speech, but difficult questions or being held to account is not his thing.
Free speech… unless I don’t like what you say.

Anyone who makes that claim about him is a mark.
Free speech absolutists always have their arguments ultimately fall apart. Very few high profile ones have been so transparently full of shit so immediately upon it being an issue for them as Musk was.

The give away with these fucks is they cannot help but view as “diversity” as necessarily meaning less qualified than white men.
See his moron friend Rogan. No thought given for justifying why these “diverse” people in the cabinet are incapable because to them it is self evident.

The solution to Rogan is to ignore him, don’t engage nor repost.

There has been a weird thing happening recently on the Alex Jones show where they are regularly holding calls with a twitter poster who has a remarkably similar accent to Elon Musk. The account had previously been accused of being a Musk dummy account but was vehemently denied.
Alex Jones certainly believes he is talking to the real Elon Musk which is why he talks to him so often and allows him to swear during his show (which is a midday broadcast mostly).
Personally I don’t think it is Elon Musk, I think he has some weirdly devoted fans who will try anything to be like him, including copying his vocal patterns and having twitter profiles dedicated to talking about how great Musk is but crazier things have happened.

Those things are bigger than I expected. Saw my first one the other day.
Bank of America Investment Banking Analysts have circulated information about a potential strike action they are trying to get started
Initial reaction - well paid, elite educated snowflakes
Their demands - to limit work to ONLY 100 hours in a given week and that anyone who hits that cap should also have a cap of 60 the following week
The impetus - one of their team, a former green beret, recently passed away after 4 straight weeks of 120 hour weeks

They’ve got a fair point. 120hrs per week isnt healthy
There’s a bad culture in investment banking. Big rewards, but stupid conditions. The whole thing needs reform.
Sadly this goes beyond just investment banking though as this sort of attitude does seem to be prevelent in American corporate society. You just need to look at US labour laws and how weak they are in actually protecting workers compared to protecting the company.
Sick leave, holidays, maternity leave - if you are in the US, these rights are almost non existent.
Depends where in America you are in fairness, some states are much better than others (generally speaking “red” states are fucking hellholes for employee rights). You’re right though on a national level that the protections don’t extend anywhere near far enough.

I live in a red state and the working conditions are different to Europe. I have changed them where I work, as personal leverage has increased over the years - just added maternity leave, paternity leave, boosted paid vacation, personal days, sick days, the lot. Also upped pension 401k match. I got agreement to close the office between Christmas and New Year too, as non vacation days, just gifted personal/family time to the employees, on proviso bare minimum coverage is worked out.
It was a fight to add more of these things, as the board I’m on wasn’t necessarily enlightened, but the basic premise I brought - good employers and good employees will find each other if you do the right thing - seemed to carry sway.
If you do the bare minimum, you will get that in return from people.
I’ve no qualms about letting people go if they abuse it (ridiculously, this is called an ‘at will’ state, and employers have a lot of power to let people go on a whim) but what I’ve found to be true in life is that if you extend yourself and go above and beyond for others, it tends to be reciprocated, and it makes a much better culture.

100hrs per week? Phfff…Seems the next gen of IBs have gone soft. In my day it was 100 billable hrs before breakfast.
I did it in grad school and was only getting paid about $12k a year.
