PSG want €145m, we want to pay around €100m..

Offer about €120m take or leave it.

If not, just sack the deal off and get others in.

So boring now.

Let’s just see what happens once PSG secure their desired replacments, which is already underway. Good chance things move quite quickly after that.

Could all change with a deal or two out of nowhere of course but on the face of it it seems we either don´t have the money or don´t have the ´bandwith´ to get our other deals done right now whilst also working on Barcola.

I assume if we do get him wrapped up this week we will see much quicker movement on CB or even RB after once budget is clear or our time is freed up.

Just noticed 100+ new posts. Here we go? Apparently not…

TIA running with L’Equipe’s reporting that we’re set to bit 115M for Barcola.

Paris Saint-Germain has still not received a written offer from Liverpool for Bradley Barcola. During ongoing discussions, the Reds have made it clear that they do not have the funds to pay the asking price for the Frenchman.

Its £30m…so a bit more of a gap.

Leave me out of it pffft

Isn’t that the guy that did Borat?

Why does it seem you would take more delight he didn’t sign than if he did ?

I don’t think we bother with a bid unless we think there’s room on PSG’s end. I think we probably close around 130.

For a change, I’m going to be negative today and say this isn’t going to happen. Paris seems determined to dig in its heels and won’t budge. Let’s just take little Mbaye and be done with it. We can’t agree to pay that much; after all, we need reinforcements in other areas too.

£145m would make him the third most expensive transfer of all time after Neymar and Mbappe i think.

I’m not sure he’s that level of talent.

He’s definitely not on that level, but I don’t think you can look at it that way. Transfer values have continued to inflate. Comparing a 145M spend this year to Mbappe’s 180M PSG move 9 years ago makes no more sense than comparing Mbappe’s 180M move to Cristiano Ronaldo’s 94M move to Real Madrid 9 years before that.

The better question is whether we can better allocate that spend towards multiple positions. I’m inclined to agree - if that’s possible. But Barcola would certainly fill a major need.

Im bored of this…move on. We need 6 fucking players

I don’t think we’ll be doing six.

Yeah, and the French probably realize that too. It’s a lousy situation, but we shouldn’t play along with it. It’s not as if they haven’t already lined up a replacement. I think they still have one transfer pending, and after that, the two sides ought to be able to come to an agreement; otherwise, the players are just stuck on the bench creating a bad atmosphere. I don’t think Enrique would like that. Right now, though, I don’t see it happening. We can always ask again in January—he’ll surely be cheaper by then.

I know, its outrageous. A deal involving potentially over 100 million pounds and they cant even sort it in a week. What kind of fiscal and legal responsibility do they think they have? There should be no strings attached or due diligence with such a paltry sum.
