Hopefully it will all end soon(ish) and we can get on with the moaning about, nay, discussing footy.

Only joking, he is absolutely the best winger on the market this summer and we got him. There might be complaints that it’s taken too long, but this is £100m footballer we’re talking about, not buying a pint of milk.

The money football is genuinely disgusting. It only seems to be getting more obscene. A certain cognative dissonance is needed to parse enjoying the sport with the gross nature of everything that surrounds it. We all do it though.
I find so much about this transfer offensive to my everyday sensibilities. I’ll still be cheering him on next week when he plays for us.
