Holy crap! What about giant lizards emerging from the sea?

Funnily enough, when I tuned into the cable TV movie channel there he was. Godzilla fighting what appeared to be a winged version of himself. How appropriate / inappropriate I thought.

Didn’t sleep well last night. There were two aftershocks about 15 minutes apart that rattled the house.

That fire on the plane in Japan.

Holy fuck…amazing everyone made it out of the passenger plane alive.

It’s always funny when a blackmailing bully overextends him/herself and loses deservedly face in the process.

This the guy who threw corrosive liquid over a woman and two children. Why on earth was he granted asylum? Converted to Christianity? My arse… my suggestion would be put him on a plane to Kabul and let the Taliban deal with him…

Police are looking for Abdul Shakoor Ezedi, 35, who was last seen at a Tesco shop in north London on Wednesday evening.

He was convicted of “sexual assault/exposure” in 2018, before being granted asylum in 2022.

His asylum application was twice turned down, but granted on the third occasion when he claimed to have converted to Christianity, and that being returned to Afghanistan was therefore a risk.

I agree. It’s inconceivable that anyone who has been convicted of an offence like that should be granted asylum.
I hope whoever was responsible for that decision is sacked at a minimum.

It is a good advert for chistianity, loads of asylum seekers are going to use that one now.

It is already a regular ploy. My wife was helping out on an Alpha course at Liverpool Cathedral a few years ago and there were three guys on it who were “converting”. They choose high profile courses where the bishop does the final baptism.

One later blew himself up in a taxi outside the Women’s Hospital when he was refused asylum.

Because its easier to grant him asylum than have to go through the human rights courts ect. To deport him due to someone complaing his human rights are been breached and his life is been put at risk.

I wish all the injured people a speedy recovery.

I do think that those in genuine danger should have a right to asylum, but those who abuse the system forfeit that right.
Anyone found guilty of a serious crime should be immediately sent back. There is no excuse for it and it endangers the public.
I’m not a legal expert and I don’t know how we got here, but it’s clearly a broken system when things like this happen.

There are plenty of people who fake “persecution” to get asylum too but that said how do countries decide which crimes are serious ?

The asylum process of Canada for example has been misused quite often.

Just an example.

But that said , should countries deny asylum seekers totally ? I do not have a clear answer to that.

I do think that anyone who’s guilty of serious crimes should be persecuted to the maximum extent possible. Irregardless of whether he or she is an asylum seeker.

People will lie. Thats a given. Soon there will be more people who fake being a LGBTQ to get asylum. It’s upto the governments to figure out how to differentiate between the genuine asylum seekers and the opportunity grabbers.

Which is a nigh-on impossible task.

The current system is broken and whether someone is granted asylum or not largely depends on the one person responsible for making the final decision.

And people are corrupt, stupid , easily influenced , preconceived morons etc etc etc.

There should be some checks and balances towards asylum seekers too. But once they get into a country, it becomes impossible to turn back the clock

Except Ezedi, I hope he’s in agony.

The trouble comes when the dire cases are highlighted and the ‘necessary’ ones are ignored!
When a Sudanese from a war zone with a business degree, speaks English, Cantonese and French, has his mother and her children living in Birmingham (not to mention his uncles and Aunts) ends up grilling meat in the south of France. Well you just have to ask a few questions over what the fuck is going on!!!
Some of the cases I’ve met are just astounding and they far out number the nut jobs!
