Is that good news for you?

Military Rule. Hopefully, transitionally. Sigh.

(I hate this source, but couldn’t find this video from other sources right now, so using racist hard right Visegrad just for the film):

Hundreds killed.

It again shows that grave misrule leads to popular uprisings, which more often than not, will result security forces toppling the government when it has 0 legitimacy left. However, often the officers don’t want to give power back to civilian rule, sigh.

@Iftikhar Can you please write something ? I don’t have good sources really and want to understand more. I can get sources, but takes time etc.

Edit: Sorry, I didn’t think properly. Really sorry, I was an idiot and apologice.

With all due respect, mate, he might have more pressing issues than keeping us updated.

  4. At least three Police Stations in Dhaka have been torched. There are rumors that ruling party leaders/terrorists took shelter there.
  5. There are reports of retaliatory attacks on the residences of ruling (yeah, not anymore) party leaders and/or government officials all across the country.
  6. There are reports of attacks on minority communities.
    7. All law enforcement agencies, including the Army are just watching.
  7. The Army, the political parties, and the Civil Society (?) haven’t yet managed to form the transitional/caretaker government.
  8. The Army chief has invted some very shady characters in the negotiations.

That’s the main thing. Do you have access to food, water, electricity etc?
Are you able to work at all?

Let’s hope the worst of the chaos is over now and that some order can return.

I don’t know what to say to you, other than to say that I echo Bekloppt under.
Just please don’t take risks and be around agitated people…

Woah

Last week the US announced they had reached a plea deal with KSM over the 9/11 attacks. It was loudly criticized by pretty much everyone, but Eric Holder explained it as an understandable outcome given the difficulty US politics had created in trying him. The deal took the death penalty off the table, but it still meant he’d spend the rest of his life in max security prison. Over the weekend Lloyd Austin, (US SecDef) announced he had revoked the deal and removed the agent from the case claiming he was the sole authority capable of granting such a plea deal.

This guy is going to die in prison before he is ever tried. I understand the reaction to the deal, but this case has been stuck in the mud for damn near 15 years.

No way they want to look soft right before an election.

At least some more hopeful news from Southport:

Alder Hey Children’s Hospital confirmed that all children admitted with injuries linked to the attacks have now been safely discharged.

Anyway  I think I am having a glass of wine to properly digest this.

6 AM. Going to sleep after guarding the neighbourhood since 11 PM. Across Dhaka, there were 100+ attacks by bandits. No Police. Army only appeared after we chased off the criminals. This is suspicious. It’s been happening for three nights but no government initiatives.

Please be very careful…

Also, please eat and sleep. I am not there, I don’t understand or know the situation you experience, but try to maybe work in shifts while you are guarding ? Do you have some ad-hoc organisation ? Sleep and food so important for decicion making in crisis.

I am very afraid for you, my friend. I hope you can, if guarding streets against looting is necessary, that you people are able to arrange shifts and rotate. You are not 20 years old and I take it that you are not operating alone ?

I hope you don’t find me rude, I 'm just trying to be a bit helpful, but I don’t know the situation…

Serious news, I know. And a small tragedy for young fans. But that comment was some what funny…

Well done to the relevant authorities in Vienna for catching a couple of suspects and being decisive to call it off in time. I forget who the artist was in Manchester (Ariana Grande?) but there’s precedent for terrorists targeting concerts.

Awful business.
