He’s already telling Denmark, the US are going to take over Greenland for security reasons, take back Panama Canal and call the Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of America.

We citizens around the world also need to boycott anything related to Trump’s trade protocol or whatever it is called. Do protests every country he visits.

What do the Japanese make of it all Leg?

Other than Shohei Otani, they are completely unaware of anything happening outside of Japan.

I had to google that.

Really? No concern about China? N.Korea? Russia?

Maybe on a governmental level there is interest but I don’t see a lot of debate about international affairs. All I see when I watch Japanese TV channels is people eating and saying how delicious it is. And Shohei Otani.

They’re a very insular group of people who don’t care about the outside world unless it affects them directly. For example, on a recent news programme where the chat was about shipping companies avoiding the Suez Canal and the Red Sea, the takeaway was that this would affect the price of imported olive oil in Japan.

I have always had an uneasy feeling about this conviction…the evidence was overwhelmingly circumstantial.

Well he still has the rape and trafficking charges in Romania to deal with, and somehow I doubt the Brits would be dumb enough to elect a convicted criminal into power

Getting close to my “I told you so” moment with certain work colleagues now.

Got to admit I did think Trump would actually be in post before I could make that claim.

Ugly times…

Yes the tory party are a bunch of cunts but none of them had criminal convictions prior to being elected

Think Dyche has left the Bitters…but it is on Sky…so it could be a bit of a fib…

You’re not the only one mate. I posted earlier in the year that there was something decidedly dodgy about the trial.

Mick Lynch, Head of RMT Union is retiring. A huge loss to the Union, who always had the best interests for his workers and the general public. I will miss him and so will many people. He was the Champion of the people and true working class hero.

Thank you Mick Lynch for your tireless, humourous campaign to make the our transport safe and make sure workers were not exploited.

Here are some of his classic interviews where he put the government, politicians and the media in their place.

My elder daughter lives there. She is in Mar Vista, close to Santa Monica. She went to work yesterday, she is a Physician’s Assistant, and was scheduled to do street medicine, where they take a large RV out to help homeless populations. The air quality was too poor for them to go out. They instead looked in on a few families that had recently gotten housing. She said there was falling ash in the air.

She, and the pets, went to a hotel in Irvine, south of LA. No evac order yet, but she didn’t want to take chances. Her partner is in residency at UCLA Med Center as an Emergency Room physician. She is working almost non stop now, getting little rest, and not with my daughter, at least for the next couple days.

Winds are forecast to lessen soon, which should help the firefighters get some measure of control :crossed_fingers:

Hope they’re ok, smart of them to get out.

Fires are scary as fuck.

Still remember this night like it was yesterday…

I was managing a nightclub at the time, one of my bussies was from a small town that ended up being wiped off the map. You could smell it 50kms from the front.
