Moving the discussion from General Politics to this place, since Pakistani retaliatory attacks across LoC is now being reported after India’s strikes hours ago.
Obviously, extremely unlikely to happen, but Pakistan is believed to only have enough artillery munitions for a week of High Intensity Warfare. Just noting it as a curiosity, not that I think there will be full conflageration (because that would be mentally handicapped in so many ways by both states, and I do not think either states are governed by actual nuclear armed imbeciles who are ready to go Full Putin without a fucking plan).
Trucks of salt needed for stories coming out of India and Pakistan that are not geolocated or otherwise confirmable. It is a chauvinistic jingo-fest online with a Indian and pakistani disinformation circus.

As I wrote this, a bomb exploded. Another one now. Sounds like artillery shells impacting close to camera (or bombs or missiles further away, camera sound sucks so a bit hard to identify all bangs). Jets can be heard. Artillery strikes that I hear are not sequenced in barrages, but sporadic and coming in solo. Several a minute though.

Both sides have prior history of both stretching truth and outright lying.
I’ll probably consider only taking anything from the Indian army at face value. Not because of my nationality. It’s an army under the control of civilian govt and has some semblance of ethics.
This at least checks out (as India reportedly used loitering ammunition), too early for any confirmation of wild tales of jets. But several videos of old crashes are circulted by disinfo sources. Some signs that 1 Indian mirage 2000 jet may actually have been downed, but no conclusive evidence posted by sources I trust.

Uhhh, they use video clips from the first day of Israel’s strikes strikes on Gaza. I remember that skyline, it was October 8, night to the 9th, 2023. Mindblowing that they dare publish such fake videos on national tv.

I wouldn’t believe in any reports on twitter with the amount of disinformation spread online by the Indian and Pakistani bots. Even so called reputed sources seem to get their news wrong. We’ll have to wait for 10am IST for the press briefing by the Indian Army. Anything else at this point is pure speculatory drivel.

Even more money from the state will go to feed their military. And that means less money for the people, more loans taken from the IMF…
That’s what happens when you go to a conflict with Pakistan. Really doesn’t matter if the attack on terrorists was a success. (I hope it was but even if high level leaders are killed, they are just as easily replenished). A bankrupt country like Pakistan has nothing to lose with this conflict because the country exists for its military.
This will just end up with both Pakistan leaders and Modi getting what they want. More money for Pakistan military and Modi gets to go away looking like a toughman and probably getting to boost his poll numbers.
Would rather have had India push in with FATF , IWT etc etc than go in for this. It’s such a shame that the Security Council is so broken with the use of Vetos. Near Rogue countries like Pakistan, NK allowed to do what they do because of Vetos by China etc.
Well, we think we eventually solved the mystery of our older cat’s weight gain. Over the years, his weight has gone up and down, and the slimming periods were usually after an elderly neighbour had died.
Last year he really put on a lot of weight, but not just usual cat podginess, he seemed to be getting wider. My wife did wonder if he was turning into a raccoon but, since our dog died, he has been slimming down again. Obviously, he had just been helping himself to the dog’s food.
