India really didn’t need to risk the Rafale’s.

SSM guided missiles and drones should have been enough.

But If india mobilizes more. Then it’s only a matter of time before Pak decides to play their get out of jail free card. The nuke card.

Naturally. It is a difficult escalation game to manage for both sides.

Btw, reports are pretty firm by now that the Indian planes were shot down by Pakistani planes, using superior missiles and not ground based air defence.
125 planes in the skies from both sides (slight salt on how this is counted as I doubt they were in the skies at the same time), it is said, they call it a dog fight, but obviously, no planes were in visual contact and all planes were at their own side of the border.

Supposedly the largest air battle in “modern history” ( Pakistani sources to
CNN, and so far they have checked out).

There is also found debris of the Chinese long range missile
Random source I googled just for the picture since I can no longer find it right now on twitter (but it’s the same pictures)

It’s very unfortunate, but this is the current state of Indian amateur OSINT:
https://x.com/JaidevJamwal/status/1920371588572033175

Jingoistic chest beating and a complete refusal to face facts, as long as they are not divulged by the Indian army or government; despite corroborated by neutral actors (even states like France). The Indian information space has jumped on the fakes and spin everything as fake. Poor Shashank at the Economist is getting flamed as hell.

Maybe this idiot you quoted should learn how to spell before trying to use big words.

Whole thing is pretty concerning. Both sides have the capability to do a lot of damage, and see a huge loss of life if it ratchets up.

Hopefully they will see sense and find a way to get out of the escalation spiral.

And on a related note, America not having a statesman anywhere in sight is a global problem. Imagine a well respected leader who could sit down and help two nuclear armed nations back down, not only for their own sakes, but for the sake of global security too.

With America on its own particular journey to crazy town, its soft power has eroded and the world is a more dangerous place.

Who is going to speak into this situation to help it?

Putin is awful. China and India have their own border dispute. America has lost the plot. And everyone else is a B-level global leader who might not have the gravitas to be listened to.

Saw this video earlier and thought it was stupid geolcation by the pakistani uplodader, but didn’t post it here, since a CISW gun shooting at drones isn’t very relevant to post. But now it is. Not important on in scale, but both sides need to learn that you just can’t give away locations on fixed defences to the enemy for free.

Because you know, minutes after you post that video (was this morning it was uploaded), Twitterati starts to work.

Apologies for unecessary double post.

And Indias too. It is mindless

Very strange to see in 2025. It is not as if we have not had a 3 year long industrial war to learn from ???

And that is not the only issue. They place a battery at the same location as if it was 1915 ? One counter battery shell damages or destroys all pieces and probably blows up their ammo dump. So bizarre to see this. It is so utterly basic.

Anyway, I don’t think this is likely to go on for long, as both sides are in deescalation talks. Depends a bit on the Pakistani strike etc., if it is escalatory or not.

Me, I cannot help but think that there were multiple better ways to punish Pakistan for it’s support of the terrorists, than starting this fucking nonsense, in this manner.
Imagine if this little skirmish escalates to war. It would be one of the silliest in recent memery, since neither side started it with thoughts of capturing territory.
Neither state is prepared for war (sure, India better prepared by default of not being as fucked up economically and industrially as Pakistan, but), neither benefits.

Then again, those talks are not going well after the Indian drone attacks

Maybe he can hitchhike?

Does India or Pakistan have conscription?

https://x.com/shashj/status/1920524716357648853

Note that the source is so-so. I kind of doubt the lie about it, but NDTV has been awful so far.

No.

But they can conscript in a crisis. But both states have professional armies and neither use conscription.

The situation now is fucking terrible. Massive escalation

(that was by India).

The Pakistani strikes have begun, and they are fucking serious. This is very, very bad.
Resisting the temptation to start dumping tweets. I know some don’t appreciate it, so will be careful and avoid it for now.

We are now close to war (I mean, missile storages hit, several airfields hit, Hercules burning; it is escalating beyond control).
What absolute, excuse me, fools these people are on both sides. All for FACE. Rationality out the window.

But at least, neither side have announced mobilisation, so many steps left on the escalation ladder, such as it is.

This Multi Polar World is fucked up. No one there to put pressure on them to deescalate.

"Pakistan announced it is initiating a large-scale military operation codenamed “Operation Bunyan ul Marsoos” in response to “continuous provocations by India.”

The Pakistani side said that “multiple strategic targets across India” are being engaged."

This comes after the second phase of the Indian Mad op, Operation Sindoor today, with bombing deep into Pakistan, targeting 3 airfields and much more (continuous artillery exchanges between the two sides on the border, and boths sides strike a lot with drones beyond the “big ops”).

Personally convinced the crazy Indian attacks are due to loss of face (they still deny they lost aircrafts officially on 7th of May and have banned over 8000 twitter accounts). Serious media black out, but the official media on boths sides, are treating this as Game Show. It is ludicrously insane.
