Netanyahu is an absolute cancer and it is he, and the violent Zionists who support him, that has brought this violence not recognition of a Palestinian state. Lecturing the Australian PM and government on this is unaccceptable and it’s important that far right Zionists are not allowed to hijack this appalling incident for their own purposes.

Given that they were likely ISIS adherants long before October 7, 2023, they were waiting for a suitable target. Perhaps they chose Jews due to the Israeli Gaza campaign, but they could have chosen another soft target without the Gaza campaign. A soft target such as an Australian government institution.
And while Netanyahu is his usual despicable self, he and Israel, is not the reason ISIS and their ideology exists. Imo, blaming Israel for this is too cheap in itself, though sure, choice of target is likely due to Israel’s policies.

Sidney is a lovely place. I only got to spend 3 days there in 2011. I don’t really know where I was even ! I would have to ask my mate who worked there

yep, if anything Australia should be seeking reassurances from middle eastern leaders before we accept another economic immigrant or grant a visa.

im glad my son has introdiced me into astronomy and cosmology… it helps to make sense in these moments, we are just atoms and will return to the dust we came from, we dont have a fundamental ‘right’ to the exclusion of others to any stretch of this planet based on what people did and said 2000 years ago…we are custodians of a planet, thats all, we may be hell bent on destroying our own existence on this planet, but it will be here when we are gone…
once you understand that, shooting someone because they believe in a different man in the sky seems pointless…

I think one of the biggest issues are the majority are keeping silent allowing propaganda to manifest. When there is an attack on Jews, the extreme ones will start labelling it as a Muslim attack on all Jews. And if there is an attack on Muslims, the extreme elements will start labelling it as an attack on all Muslims by all Jews. And in enclaves of your own tribe, these propaganda grows really fast. Even in Singapore, where we are multicultural and religiously moderate, news of this attack already attract comments that these are done by Mossad, and that the attackers are actually IDF. For all it’s worth, maybe it’s true I don’t know but when these unverified comments are repeated enough, there will be people who adopt these narratives and the circular violence will just continue.
But regardless of what narrative or propaganda, the fact is today, lives and families are destroyed forever. Rest in peace.

I just posted this again. There does seem to be a lot of extra security at the Christmas markets, so I expect that they have had some intelligence on this. My son has been working as a cook at the market locally (which is one of the big markets that people from the Netherlands travel to). He has to carry knives in with him so the police have been checking his ID each day (I think they recognise him by now).

Hardly anything new, we’ve had numerous planned attacks and unfortunately a few ‘successfull’ attacks on Christmas makets in the last 10 yrs or so in Germany (and nearby France).
