Do they even have beef with each other?

EDIT: Found it, it seems to be a dispute over water (at least last year’s conflict was)

No one will helps the Armenians. Those headchoppers from Baku are going to do what they want for some time yet. Armenia is much too weak to stand up to them. And everywhere on twitter, Turks are gloating with dehumanising language, hungry for Armenian blood. Most Turks would prefer Armenia to be liquidated completely.

So far, I think losses are significantly higher.

It’s not threatening, Azerbadjan has not only strategically bombed Armenia proper as well as tactically bombed and shelled Armenian soil, but it has captured territory. What nonsense from the WSJ, white washing Azerbadjani war crimes. Because unprovoked offensive war is a war crime.

The fighting isn’t in Nagorno-Karabagh or some disputed area, this is Armenia proper, with recogniced borders, they have invaded and are bombing right at this moment in time.
Air alerts all over the country

Fucked up. Pashynian is pro-Western and wanted western integration, but because of fucked up Geopolitics, Russia is their only potential ally against super power Azerbadjan (super powerful because Turkey supports them to the hilt). And right now, Russia can’t help. Even if FSB has been hit by Azeri fire, they will do nothing because of the Ukraine mire. Fucked up situation.
So many Armenians will die and get maimed and have infrastructure destroyed, and they will also lose territory. How much ? Time will tell.

Nice to know that the BBC still considers the lying in state of the Queen the overwhelming big front page news, not a war going on.

In fact, can’t find any mention of any of this on the BBC at all.

Also, as a separate topic, the cynical side of me is wondering if the NATO countries would prefer to do nothing as this is just another challenge for Russia, and they want to know how much strength Russia actually has.

NATO cannot intervene in favour of a Russian client versus a client state of a NATO member. It is an ugly price of doing business with Turkey. Even two years ago, people were questioning how critical Turkey actually was, given the fact they were also damn near in opposition to the US in Syria and Iraq. But now they are more valuable than ever, Erdogan knows it, and so Armenia gets it in the teeth. He is claiming his reward for supporting Ukraine, while still playing both sides to some degree.

The world is not just and geopolitics seldom is. But I fucking feel for the Armenians. Most plagued people on earth apart from Jews. But for a very long time now, they have been in a much worse situation than Jews obviously. They never really recovered as a people from the genocide during the Armenian genocide. The modern day Armenia is just a fragment of their ancestral lands. And most Turks, particularly with the reigning nationalism under AKP, wants to see their culture annihilated and their land ruled by Turkomans. (Azeris are Turkomans)

Or use it as a test case of the futility of positioning yourself as allied to them if they are unable to help out when needed.

It’s an unfortunate reality that people internalize a lesson far more from problems that were allowed to happen by actions not taken, than form problems averted from actions that were taken. The result is it is probably a more valuable to for the west to allow a russian ally to suffer than it is to step in an avert problems.

It looks like Armenia is about to capitulate. CSTO obviously has refused to help.

A fucked up situation.

Strange

This, as well as great advantage in missiles, helicopters and more; is why Armenia doesn’t stand a sporting chance. They can’t counter these. Azerbadjan already took out S-300 on day 1.
