Bundesliga / German NT

In fairness, both he and BVB look much sharper in the second half.

Bit of a freak goal for Olise there.

Great wing play by Diaz, gets to the byline and the ball across…Bellingham makes a bit of a hash of clearing his lines before Olise slides in and bounces off him into the net.

I will do this text write with “DeepL”:

I work in a workshop for disabled people and I’m about to take my lunch break. There is a colleague in my department with whom I can discuss football in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. He is a true German, a ‘biological German’. He hates the German national team and at the same time (!!!) supports England AND Scotland, the Republic of Ireland and maybe also Northern Ireland and Wales. He has an aversion to the Bundesliga and ridicules the highest German league, even though he supports the second division team 1.FC Nürnberg, which he currently denies. In the Regionalliga Bayern (fourth highest German league), there is a club called DJK Vilzing from Cham, which he supports because his favourite singer, Leony, comes from there.

In the UK, he claims to be a fan of various (!) clubs: Liverpool, West Ham United, Fulham, Newcastle United, Portsmouth, Coventry City, Grimsby Town and Rangers in Scotland!

What are your opinions?

He’s my mate, but I don’t particularly like him because of his anti-German attitude (he once said he hates Germany because of the Second World War).

As a matter of principle, I am against six specific clubs in European competitions (Bayern, Freiburg, RB Leipzig, Werder, St. Pauli and Union Berlin), but my mate demonstratively never supports German clubs in international competitions. For example, if Hamburger SV were to play Millwall (he hates Millwall because of West Ham) or Southampton (he hates Southampton because of Portsmouth) in European competition, he would be neutral, according to his own statements (at least with regard to HSV-Millwall).

He himself is German. I myself have Tamil roots.

I’d like to hear your opinions on this. @Bekloppt @Cologne-Liverpool @mattyhurst @Zoran etc

I like the look of that. Of course it ended quite well in 1990.

Its very deserved that we have did took over a point.

They nearly won it after that, but they didn’t give up. Really pleasing to watch.

@RedWhippet

Before the match, i has did believed, we can took over a point in the match against the great favourites from Borussia Dortmund. And before the end of the match, i has did little bit hoped, we can score the 1-1 equalize goal. And fact: Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer has did scored a header after a assist from Miro Muheim.

After the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, we must play in the away match against FC Augsburg.

You wouldn’t put Hamburger vs St Pauli in there? I know it has been infrequent, but there is some real rivalry when it happens.

Where would you rank the Hamberg Derby compared to the rest of that list?

@RedWhippet @aussielad

The Hamburger Stadtderby is very explosive, but I would still rank it behind the Nordderby. In the Bundesliga, the derby between Hamburger SV and SV Werder Bremen was the most frequently played match until a few years ago.

Incidentally, I forgot to mention the Niedersachsenderby between Hannover 96 and Eintracht Braunschweig. That’s also a very explosive match.
